(AP) &#8211; A Minnesota man was killed on an icy Interstate 94\u00a0one mile east of Valley City\u00a0about 11:45 a.m., Wednesday,when his vehicle collided with a tow truck that had stopped to pull other vehicles out of the ditch.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol did not immediately identify the 40-year-old man from Cokato, Minnesota. The patrol says he lost control of his car\u00a0 and it rear-ended the tow truck parked on the shoulder of the highway.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The tow truck driver was not in the vehicle at the time and was not hurt.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the truck had its emergency lights on as it worked to remove vehicles from the ditch that had been involved in an earlier crash.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) No injuries reported after rear-end collision around 10:21 a.m Wednesday on I-94, 10 miles west of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Highway Patrol, reports, 64 year-old Ritchie Jacobson of Gackle, was traveling eastbound at roughly 60 miles per hour. 34 year-old Michael Gillespie of Taylor, Michigan was traveling at 75-plus miles per hour when he came up on Jacobson\u2019s vehicle which was pushed into the median where he slowed and stopped.<\/p>\n<p>Both airbags deployed on Gillespie\u2019s vehicle, but he continued and failed to stop at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>He was stopped by a trooper ten miles farther down the interstate.<\/p>\n<p>He was charge for driving without liability insurance and arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Engineer\u2019s Office informs motorists that starting Friday, November 7, 2014,<\/p>\n<p>12<sup>th<\/sup> Ave NE<b><b>, between 7<sup>th<\/sup> St and 10<sup>th<\/sup> St NE, will be closed to traffic, due to utility work.<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The work is expected to last approximately five days, depending on weather conditions. The street is expected to be re-opened to traffic Wednesday, November 12, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Alfred Dickey Public Library\u2019s Director, Joe Rector says, the James River Valley Library System will continue to provide the &#8220;best service possible,&#8221; and move forward with plans.<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County voters on Tuesday turned down the opportunity to renovate and expand the downtown library by authorizing a quarter percent sales tax.<\/p>\n<p>The votes was 4,223 against, and 3,035 in favor.<\/p>\n<p>Private donations would have been added to the tax collected toward the estimated $9 million project.<\/p>\n<p>Rector added that he respects having voters decide the direction of the library.<\/p>\n<p>He adds that the board of directors will be meeting to discuss future plans.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Voters in the city of Jamestown Tuesday passed City Measure 1 amending the city fireworks Ordinance.<\/p>\n<p>Voters approved the measure with 2,716 yes votes to 2,522 no votes.<\/p>\n<p>Starting in 2015, the sale and detonation of legal fireworks in city limits is July 1-5,<\/p>\n<p>from noon to 11 p.m. July 1 through July 3, from noon to 1 a.m. July 4 through July 5 and from noon to 11 p.m. July 5.<\/p>\n<p>Previously and sale and use of fireworks in Jamestown was nine days, from June 27th to July 5th.<\/p>\n<p>A supporter of Measure 1, Danielle Schmidt of Jamestown says the change &#8220;brings Jamestown into the 21<sup>st<\/sup> century.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>\u3000\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Cannon Ball man accused of assaulting a woman in the hallway of a casino on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation has been sentenced to five years in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Forty-one-year-old Dustin Lester was accused in February of punching and kicking the woman multiple times at Prairie Knights Casino. U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says Lester was dating the woman. The assault was captured by security video.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lester pleaded guilty in July to assault with a dangerous weapon. (AP) &#8211; A Garrison man accused of leading McLean County Sheriff&#8217;s deputies on a three-hour chase has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n25-year-old Robert Painte pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to charges that include driving under the influence, criminal mischief and theft.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Painte is accused of fleeing from deputies during a traffic stop on Oct. 11, as the officers were preparing to arrest him. He eventually was arrested at a relative&#8217;s residence after an officer subdued him with a stun gun.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota man says he will plead guilty to covering up evidence in a death investigation.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ben LeDoux, of Rugby, is charged with altering, destroying, or concealing a tangible object in a federal investigation. (AP) &#8211; A judge has ruled that North Dakota game wardens improperly searched a Devils Lake rental home where five Wisconsin anglers were caught last summer with what authorities said was an illegal amount of fish.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Lee Christofferson says game wardens failed to get a warrant or obtain proper consent. His ruling means evidence in the case can&#8217;t be used to prosecute the men.<\/p>\n<p>Ramsey County State&#8217;s Attorney Lonnie Olson says he won&#8217;t appeal the ruling, and the case against the men likely will be dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities allege that the men had 100 more walleye than allowed by state law. A person familiar with the case told The Associated Press that Goodell testified for more than two hours to begin the hearing, spending much of his testimony under cross examination by Rice&#8217;s attorneys.\u00a0 Rice is seeking his immediate reinstatement after Goodell suspended him indefinitely for violating the NFL&#8217;s personal conduct policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) &#8211; The Buffalo Bills&#8217; new owners are committed to building a stadium and also are working to end the team&#8217;s series of annual home games in Toronto.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Terry Pegula said the construction of a stadium was something the NFL emphasized during the sale process. Federal agents spotted Carlesha Freeland-Gaither and 37-year-old Delvin Barns yesterday in Jessup, Maryland, and agents surrounded the vehicle. Barns is in custody, but is being held in Virginia on an unrelated warrant for attempted murder. Surveillance video showed Freeland-Gaither&#8217;s abduction Sunday on a Philadelphia city street.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UNDATED (AP) &#8211; Former Pro Bowl running back Ray Rice and his wife, Janay, will testify today in New York in Rice&#8217;s appeal hearing. The former Baltimore Ravens star was suspended indefinitely by the NFL and was fired by the Ravens after video surfaced that showed him knocking out his then-fiance with a punch.
