HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 20S BY\u00a0 TUESDAY\u2026WITH MORNING LOWS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS ABOVE ZERO TO AROUND \u00a010 ABOVE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City (CSi) Valley City Police report that on Wednesday November 5<sup>th<\/sup> at about 9:45 pm officers responded to a reported stabbing,<\/p>\n<p>23 year-old Faisal Mohammed allegedly attempted to contact an unidentified individual inside an apartment for money he was owed.<\/p>\n<p>When 23 year-old Sharmke Abudulle answered the door, Mohammed allegedly brandished a knife and cut Abudulle.<\/p>\n<p>Abudulle was treated at the scene with a minor laceration to his neck.<\/p>\n<p>Mohamed was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, and taken to the Barnes County Corrections Center.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) Auxiliary will hold its annual Holiday Magic fundraiser Friday, November 7<sup>, <\/sup>2014 at 7:30 a.m. \u2013 7:30 p.m. Items for sale will include ornaments, holiday d\u00e9cor, stocking stuffers, a bake sale and gifts for everyone on your list.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, our guests were the Co-Chairs of the event, Carol Lawrence and Linda Greer.<\/p>\n<p>Linda said in addition to the afore mentioned items there will be themed trees, and Carol noted that there will be many railroad themed items, along with holiday table decorations.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a raffle with tickets at $5 each, or 5 for $20, with tickets remaining on sale, and the drawing on December 19, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The JRMC, Tree of Love ornaments are also available for $5 or $10, to honor or in memory of a person.<\/p>\n<p>In a news release, JRMC Gift Shoppe Coordinator, Nancy Jo Johnson said, &#8220;Holiday Magic is our largest annual event that the Auxiliary holds every year. This is a great time to get an early start on your Christmas shopping and support a great cause.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Christmas bazaar will be located on the lower level conference rooms of JRMC. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the JRMC Foundation for an infant warmer in the Family BirthPlace.<\/p>\n<p>The JRMC\u00a0 Auxiliary was formed in 1973 by Dorothy Chouinard, who is still an active member.<\/p>\n<p>The auxiliary provides services and support for the hospital through financial donations and volunteer services. Funds raised by the auxiliary provides material back to the hospital including baby burping cloths, surgery pillows and grab bars.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City (CSi) With Valley City voters, Tuesday approving, with 51 percent of the vote, an Advisory Vote for the building of a $16 million community Health, Wellness and Physical Education Center, Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation administrator Andrea Nelson says a drive to raise another $4 million will begin soon.<\/p>\n<p>The vote advises the Valley City Commission about amending the City Code to enact a City Sales, Use and Gross Receipts Tax, dedicated to the use of no greater than 17% capped at $3-million dollars, plus interest, for a bond issuance to provide financing assisstance for the Valley City Wellness, Health, and Physical Education Center.<\/p>\n<p>VCSU students have voted to increase their student fees to help fund the facility.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed 62,000 square foot Wellness Center would be located east of the W.E. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper waded through a slough to rescue an 81-year-old woman who had driven into the water near Churchs Ferry.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The patrol says Mertie Kurtti, of Rocklake, was traveling on U.S. Highway 281 on Wednesday afternoon when she lost control of her car and went into the ditch and then the slough.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The vehicle became submerged to the top of the seats, and Kurtti was covered in water up to her neck. Trooper Grant Lonski walked through water up to his stomach and pulled Kurtti from the vehicle.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kurtti was taken to a Devils Lake hospital and treated for hypothermia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The second of two men accused of conspiring to kill a South Dakota man in North Dakota was sentenced Thursday to life in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n21-year-old Joshua Clark was found guilty in July for his role in the killing of 18-year-old John Swain.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Swain was reported missing in May 2013 after moving to Bismarck from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in search of work.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Clark&#8217;s co-defendant, 26-year-old Theo Crowe, pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced in January to life in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Clark and Crowe lured Swain into a Bismarck home, hit him with a hammer and cut off his legs.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Swain&#8217;s body was found at the home of Crowe&#8217;s grandmother in Poplar, Montana.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The Libertarian Party is eligible to place candidates on the 2016 statewide ballot after one of its candidates got more than 5 percent of the vote in the race for secretary of state.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Roland Riemers (RYM&#8217;-urs) got 5.3 percent of the vote Tuesday in the race that was won by incumbent Al Jaeger.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State law says a political party must get at least 5 percent of the total votes cast to be placed on the next election&#8217;s ballot.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jaeger says it&#8217;s the first time in at least 20 years that a third party could automatically be placed on the ballot for exceeding the 5 percent requirement.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Riemers is a Grand Forks resident and longtime political candidate. He&#8217;s also run for the U.S. Senate and the North Dakota Legislature.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Construction is underway on a $57 million high school in Williston.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nA ground-breaking ceremony was held Wednesday for the facility.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 City voters in June approved a $34 million bond issue to help pay for the school. The City Commission in August approved the annexation of 35 acres of donated farm land for the facility. It&#8217;s expected to be ready in the fall of 2016.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School district enrollment in the western oil patch hub has increased more than 40 percent over the past five years, to about 3,500 students. (AP) &#8211; Mark Fox is officially the leader of North Dakota&#8217;s oil-rich Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation after he was sworn in Wednesday afternoon in New Town.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fox beat Tribal Attorney Damon Williams in a general election Tuesday by a slim margin. Fox received 1,240 votes and Williams 1,094 votes.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fox&#8217;s inauguration marks the end of the Tex Hall administration. Hall held power from 1998 to 2006 and was re-elected in 2010. He presided over the bulk of the reservation&#8217;s oil boom but his administration was criticized by Fox, Williams and others as lacking transparency and failing to deal with the problems that followed oil to the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The reservation produces more than 330,000 barrels of oil a day. Warner had been expected to win handily, but holds a lead of less than a percentage point over Gillespie. A Gillespie spokesman said the campaign continues to wait for the official numbers to be reported.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 PHILADELPHIA (AP) &#8211; Authorities say a woman who&#8217;d been snatched off the streets of Philadelphia was rescued with the help of a GPS tracking device that had been installed on the suspect&#8217;s vehicle by the used-car dealership that sold it to him. Police found Carlesha Freeland-Gaither and her alleged abductor in Jessup, Maryland, yesterday after investigators read the dealership&#8217;s name on a traffic-camera image of the car. They then asked the dealership to turn on the car&#8217;s GPS and provide the vehicle&#8217;s location.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UNITED NATIONS (AP) &#8211; The U.N.&#8217;s Ebola chief says he&#8217;s hopeful that the outbreak could end next year.
