\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) –\u00a0\u00a0 As much as 4 inches of snow fell throughout southern North Dakota on Sunday. A travel alert issued by the state Transportation Department for the western and southwestern regions was still in effect early Monday.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 More snow was expected today, with more than half a foot possible in parts of southeastern North Dakota and nearly a foot possible in parts of northern South Dakota.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The system also is bringing gusty winds and colder temperatures, with overnight lows forecast to dip below zero in parts of southern North Dakota and northern South Dakota.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Engineer\u2019s Office informs motorists that beginning Today Monday, November 10, 2014, south bound traffic will be restricted to one lane in the area of HWY 281 South & 20th<\/sup> St SW for utility repairs. This lane restriction will re-open as soon as repairs have been completed.<\/p>\n

Motorists’ should use EXTREME caution in and around this area and use alternate routes.<\/p>\n

WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) \u2013 Two 20-year-old men are dead after their car collided with a snow plow just west of Wahpeton.<\/p>\n

The men were indentified as, the driver 20 year-old Taylor Cofell of LaMoure and\u00a0\u00a0his passenger, 20 year-old Thomas Serr of Aberdeen.\u00a0 They were pronounced dead at the scene on state Highway 13 about 8 p.m. Thursday, November 6th.<\/p>\n

Authorities say the crash happened at an intersection when the car pulled in front of the snow plow while trying to turn onto the highway.\u00a0 The patrol says they were not wearing their seat belts.<\/p>\n

The snow plow operator, 48 year-old Ron Brakke of Sheldon was not injured. \u00a0\u00a0The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Stutsman County Relay for Life 2015 held the kickoff on Sunday at St. Paul\u2019s United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n

On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Co-Chairperson Pam Phillips said, Relay for Life was created 30 years ago to help increase awareness of cancer, with a doctor on the west coast who walked a track for 24 hours. Stutsman County has been hosting a relay for life event for the past 19 years.<\/p>\n

Local RFL events proceed throughout the year, go toward local support efforts including gasoline cards, and the Look Good, Feel Good program which provides wigs and other items for cancer patients. A portion also goes toward American Cancer Society programs and support.<\/p>\n

An event is planned for May 1, 2015, called Paint the town Purple, with more information coming.<\/p>\n

The event starts on Friday June 5, at 2-p.m., at the University of Jamestown Taylor Stadium and Rollie Greeno Field, track, and goes until 2-a.m., on June 6.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony will be at 6-p.m., with the lighting of the luminaries at 9:30-p.m.<\/p>\n

The 2015 RFL goal is to raise $125,000 and have at least 35 teams.<\/p>\n

BUTTE, N.D. (AP) – Authorities say the death of a hunter in McLean County over the weekend appears to be accidental.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 District Game Warden Tim Larson\u00a0says \u00a0the fatality occurred Saturday morning near Butte. The victim was not immediately identified.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota’s deer gun hunting season opened Friday.<\/p>\n

WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) – Authorities are investigating a weekend shooting in Watford City that sent a man to the hospital for emergency surgery.

\n27-year-old Pacer Coleman, of Alvarado, Texas, was shot in the face at a motel early Saturday. He was taken to a hospital in Minot. His condition wasn’t known.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police arrested a 21-year-old woman after searching for about two hours. Former charges were pending.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say the man and woman had been drinking, but it was not immediately clear what led to the alleged shooting.<\/p>\n

(CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, 24-year-old man from Washington Court House, Ohio,died and a Mandan man sustained injuries after a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 94 between Bismarck and Mandan on Saturday.<\/p>\n

A23-year-old Mandan man was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Ohio man as a passenger at 8:33 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Dodge was behind another vehicle on the I-94 onramp in the westbound lane at mile marker 159.As both vehicles entered the interstate, the Dodge accelerated around the other vehicle directly into the left lane.The Dodge driver lost control in the process of passing the other vehicle, spun sideways across both westbound lanes and slid into the north ditch. The Dodge rolled, coming to rest on its roof and ejecting both occupants. Neither of the men were wearing seat belts and both were taken by Metro Area Ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.<\/p>\n

The crash remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The city of Fargo and its police chief are parting ways.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 City commissioners announced Monday morning that they have signed a separation agreement with Chief Keith Ternes (TUR’-nuhs), who has held the job for 8\u00a0 1\/2 years. Ternes has been with the department since January 1987.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ternes says he views the move as early retirement, and says he’s been looking at other options for a while.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The city recently formed a committee to look into complaints over morale within the police department. Ternes says he viewed the review as a good thing for the department.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Commissioners named Deputy Police Chief David Todd to take over the chief’s job on an interim basis.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A quarterly state auction for oil drilling rights on North Dakota state land has fetched more than $5 million.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 More than 12,000 mineral acres in nine counties were auctioned last week.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 About 7,500 acres were auctioned for $2.9 million in McKenzie County. The remaining acreage was in Billings, Bottineau, Dunn, Hettinger, Mountrail, Renville and Williams counties.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded North Dakota more than $343,000 to enhance highway safety programs in the state.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp say the state Department of Transportation will use the funding to promote public safety efforts.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They say the goal is to curb impaired driving and speeding, improve pedestrian and bicycle safety, enforce traffic safety laws and reduce crashes from unsafe driving.

\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) – Officials say state parks are booming along with the oil patch as the population grows. The Minot Daily News reports the state’s parks are setting visitation records again this year. Park managers say they are starting to see parks fill with campers earlier and earlier in the week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) – A group of volunteers has opened a children’s museum in Minot for at least a few months.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Magic City Discovery Center is inside a hangar at the Dakota Territory Air Museum. The Minot Daily News reports that it features multiple displays such as a wind tunnel and a maze designed to let children participate and learn.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The museum is a project of the Give 360 group. Spokeswoman Wendy Keller says each member contributes $360 per year. The group is affiliated with the Minot Area Community Foundation.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The museum is scheduled to remain open at least through February. Admission is $4 per person, with children under 1 getting in free. Officials hope to someday find a permanent home.<\/p>\n

Rodgers finished with 315 yards passing before watching most of the second half from the sideline. The Bears have lost five of their last six, and they’ve given up at least 51 points in two straight games.<\/p>\n

Peyton Manning threw five touchdown passes in less than 17 minutes during the second and third quarters of the Denver Broncos’ 41-17 romp at Oakland. Julius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders each had two TD catches after C.J. Anderson’s spectacular 51-yard catch-and-run. Manning went 31 for 44 for 340 yards before sitting out the fourth quarter with the game locked up. He helped the Broncos improve to 7-2 and send the Raiders to their 15th consecutive loss.

Harvick dominated the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500, leading for 264 laps to earn an automatic spot in the four-man Chase field in the finale next weekend at Homestead. Jeff Gordon finished second but lost his bid for a fifth Sprint Cup championship when Newman knocked Kyle Larson into the wall on the final lap to finish 11th, a point ahead of Gordon.

Oregon is third, followed by Alabama, TCU, Baylor, Arizona State, Ohio State, Auburn and Mississippi. Ohio State climbed five spots after beating Michigan State, TCU and Baylor moved up four notches and Auburn fell six places following its loss to Texas A&M.
