HIGHS IN THE UPPER 20S.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Police is investigating what appears to be an accidental drowning\u00a0 that occurred Saturday morning about 11:50 a.m.,\u00a0in a Southwest Jamestown residence.<\/p>\n<p>Police\u00a0 is withholding the name of\u00a0the\u00a018-month-old infant.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Robert Opp said officers responded to a report of an infant drowning in a bathtub in the home of its parents.<\/p>\n<p>While police continue with the investigation, the drowning appears accidental.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>More information may be released Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The 2014 Holiday Dazzle Parade, in Jamestown was held Friday evening along 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Before the parade started floats were judged at the starting area at McElroy Park.<\/p>\n<p>The floats then traveled north on 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue to the Civic Center area.<\/p>\n<p>Trophies were awarded and $100 cash given out for the best floats in the categories of :<\/p>\n<p>Best Dazzle, won by, Triumph, Inc.<\/p>\n<p>Most Original Theme, won by, James River Correctional Center.<\/p>\n<p>Most Outstanding Amateur Built, won by, The Sons of Norway<\/p>\n<p>Most Outstanding Civic or Non-Profit, won by, The Girl Scouts.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown Community Christmas tree lighting outside the Jamestown Civic Center, was held after the parade, preceded with a short program.<\/p>\n<p>Following the tree lighting the After Parade Party was at the Gladstone Inn &amp; Suites, with cookies provided by Hugo\u2019s and entertainment by the Jamestown Choralaires.<\/p>\n<p>Photos and in parade video posted on line at CSiNewsNow.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Ave Maria Village in Jamestown has sent out its Thanksgiving Appeal in the community.<br \/>\nOn Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Ave Maria Village, Development Director, Jan Barnes, poined out, that, a matching gift of $5,000 has been met, and another $10,000 matching gift has been received, with $3,200 left toward fulfilling that match. She says gifts sent now will be doubled.<\/p>\n<p>All proceeds go toward the Ave Maria Capital Campaign to go toward paying for the new chapel, all-weather garage and the McCoy Family End-of-Life Suite. She said the least the appeal can bring in is $30,000 toward the new chapel. (AP) &#8211; Trial is set to begin for two North Dakota brothers accused of intentionally destroying potatoes and defrauding the federal government out of about $2 million in crop insurance payments.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Aaron and Derek Johnson, of the Cooperstown area, are charged with conspiring to receive illegal payments by intentionally damaging the spuds. They have pleaded not guilty.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Johnsons are accused of applying chemicals to the potatoes and using portable heaters in the warehouse in order to accelerate deterioration. The government says once the potatoes rotted, the men reported the loss to their insurance company and said the crop was lost due to naturally caused diseases.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A defense attorney says the brothers may be guilty of bad farming practices, but that is not illegal.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jury selection is scheduled Monday in Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0SAWYER, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Authorities say a teenager has died in a snowmobile accident at his home near Minot.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nWard County Sheriff&#8217;s Capt. Bob Barnard said the 16-year-old boy died Friday night in Sawyer. He says the teen was test-driving the snowmobile around his home while working on the machine with his dad when he hit a tree.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Barnard says the man discovered his son after hearing a noise from the crash. A helicopter transported the teen to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Barnard says the boy wasn&#8217;t wearing a helmet. Authorities haven&#8217;t released his name.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0KILLDEER, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota officials say a 24-year-old man from the state of Washington has died in a crash with a semitrailer.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol said Sunday that Christopher Parker of Lake Stevens, Washington, died in the Saturday crash near Killdeer.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Parker was a passenger in a pickup truck that went off the road on Highway 200. The pickup driver over-corrected the vehicle and went into the semitrailer&#8217;s path. The semitrailer&#8217;s driver tried to slow down, but hit the rear passenger side of the pickup. Both vehicles went off the road.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The pickup driver and another passenger were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are unclear. The semitrailer driver and his passenger weren&#8217;t injured.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities are investigating. No arrests have been reported.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Authorities have arrested two Minneapolis residents who they say stole roughly $8,000 worth of merchandise from a Wal-Mart in Minot.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police said Sunday they arrested the 22-year-old and 24-year-old on Friday after responding to a report of a stolen cell phone. It&#8217;s unclear if they&#8217;ve been charged.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say they identified the suspects using surveillance footage. They say they pulled over the pair Friday and found some of the stolen merchandise in their car.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say they found a hotel room key in a squad car after taking the pair to the Ward County Jail. Police say they searched the hotel room and found more items stolen from Wal-Mart.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAFTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Grafton man is in custody for alleging possessing explosive devices following a standoff at his home.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nA \u00a0citizen called police Saturday afternoon to report suspicious activity at the home. A police statement said officers received information that a person at the home was possibility building explosives.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The statement said a standoff ensued at the home and the Grand Forks bomb squad reported to the scene. Police eventually took a 62-year-old man into custody after several hours. Investigators also recovered several explosive devices.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Grafton is about 275 miles northeast of Bismarck.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. The Seminoles (12-0) have 29 first-place votes and 1,423 points.<\/p>\n<p>The last time the No. 2 team had more first-place votes than the No. 1 team this late in the season was Nov. 25, 1968, when No. 1 Ohio State had 21 1\/2 first-places votes to Southern California\u2019s 24 1\/2.<\/p>\n<p>Alabama is No. 1 for the 72nd time overall and first since it lost last year\u2019s Iron Bowl. The Tide beat Auburn 55-44 on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>It is also the seventh straight season the Crimson Tide has been No. 1 at some point, the longest such streak since Miami from 1986-92.<\/p>\n<p>Florida State is the first team to lose the No. 1 ranking twice in a season since Penn State in 1997.<\/p>\n<p>The last time a No. 1 team had a loss and No. 2 was undefeated this late in the season was Nov. 27, 1993, when Florida State (11-1) held the top spot and Nebraska (11-0) was No. 2.<\/p>\n<p>Those Seminoles, who lost to Notre Dame a few weeks prior, went on to beat Nebraska in the Orange Bowl and win the national title.<\/p>\n<p>No. 3 Oregon received five first-place votes in the latest poll.
