THE WINTRY MIX IS FORECAST TO CHANGE OVER TO SNOW SUNDAY EVENING WHICH COULD CAUSE TRAVEL HAZARDS SUNDAY.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Girl Scouts in Jamestown are holding a unique fundraiser, to support a trip to Orlando, Florida, in October of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown Girl Scout volunteer, Cheryl Dewald along with Girl Scouts Hannah Kapp, and Izzy Dillingham were guests.<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl said 35 Jamestown Girl Scouts and chaperones will spend six days in Orlando and participate in some Disney Youth Educational classes, learn about sea life at Sea World, take a day trip to the ocean and NASA Space Center, and volunteer their time at the World Village, as a service project.<\/p>\n<p>Hannah has particular interest in the visit to NASA, while Izzy is looking forward to going to Seaworld.<\/p>\n<p>One fundraiser is the Nightmare Before Christmas, haunted house.<\/p>\n<p>The event will have over 15 different scarey themes, and includes a disabled accessible vortex, as the Haunted Hose is partially interactive, as patrons will be challenged to collect various good luck charms to help protect them and grant them safe passage.<\/p>\n<p>Concessions will be available for sale, and there will be a special appearance by Santa.<\/p>\n<p>The Nighmare Before Christmas is set at the former Home of Economy location at 830 18<sup>th<\/sup> Street Southwest in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The dates are;<\/p>\n<p>December 5,6, 12 &amp; 13 from 5:30-p.m. to 10:30-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>December 7 from 5:30 to 9-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>December 14 from 2-p.m. to 7-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $8 in advance from a participating Girl Scout, or $10 at the door, with $1 off if you bring a non-parishable food item for the local food pantry.<\/p>\n<p>For advanced tickets E-Mail <a href=\"mailto:cheryldewald@hotmail.com\">cheryldewald@hotmail.com<\/a><span> for a list of participating Girls Scouts, selling tickets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Bismarck police investigating a homicide have arrested a 45-year-old homeless man.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the male victim was found dead on a street next to a car about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. They did not immediately identify him.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police were impounding the car, in which two people were seen by patrol officers late Wednesday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The suspect was due in court later Thursday to be formally charged.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Police in North Dakota have identified the 1\u00a0 1\/2-year-old boy who died Sunday at a hospital after nearly drowning in a bathtub.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Devils Lake Police have identified the boy as Jaxsen Veralrud. He had been hospitalized since nearly drowning on Nov. 17. Authorities do not suspect foul play.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police tell WDAY-TV that Jaxsen&#8217;s mother was giving him a bath when she stepped away to work on making dinner. She returned one or two minutes later and found the child unresponsive.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emergency personnel were able to resuscitate the boy, who was then transported to a Fargo hospital. Doctors there determined he had suffered severe brain damage, and he was taken off life support Sunday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say it&#8217;s uncertain whether the mother will face charges. They say the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The trial of a Minot Air Force Base woman accused of causing a fatal accident in Minot has been postponed until next year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thirty-two-year-old Maria Sutton was to go on trial this week on a negligent homicide charge that carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A pretrial conference is now scheduled April 1, with Sutton&#8217;s trial to start either later than month or in June.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSutton allegedly was driving her car in the wrong lane in June 2013 when she struck a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Robert Morrison head-on, killing him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s Insurance Department has levied a $60,000 fine against the state&#8217;s largest health insurer for violating state law.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Noridian Mutual Insurance Co. does business as Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota. (AP) &#8211; No one was hurt in a fire at the Coyote Station power plant near Beulah in western North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Minnesota-based Otter Tail Power Co. says in a statement that a mechanical failure about 5 a.m. Thursday led to the fire. The cause of the equipment failure was not immediately determined.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vice president Jan Rudolf says Otter Tail is still assessing the damage. The plant is off line in the meantime. (AP) &#8211; The head of American Crystal Sugar Co. says it&#8217;s likely that most shareholders in the sugar beet cooperative will lose money this year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Company President and CEO David Berg says the poor financial results are due primarily to poor yields and Mexican sugar flooding the U.S. market. He&#8217;s averaging less than 4 yards per run against NDSU and the Jackrabbits are 0-6 against the Bison in that span.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Zenner did have his best game against NDSU earlier this season when he ran for 96 yards, topping his previous best against the Bison by 50 yards. The jury sat for nine weeks, hearing testimony from 22 civilian witnesses and 28 others, including police officers, emergency medical personnel and doctors. Sixty exhibits were admitted into evidence, including four videos. Civil rights leaders are calling the grand jury decision clearing the white police officer a &#8220;travesty of justice.&#8221; The officer&#8217;s lawyer and police union officials argue the grand jury made the right decision and Garner&#8217;s poor health was the main cause of his death.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CLEVELAND (AP) &#8211; The U.S. Justice Department and the city of Cleveland have reached an agreement to overhaul the city&#8217;s police department. Federal investigators have concluded Cleveland police use excessive and unnecessary force far too often and have endangered the public with their recklessness. The justice department probe found officers frequently violated people&#8217;s civil rights because of faulty tactics, inadequate training and a lack of supervision and accountability.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; The House has passed for a $585 billion defense bill that grants President Barack Obama the authority to expand the U.S. military mission against Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria. The vote was 300-119. The measure now heads to the Senate where several Republicans have objected to the bill&#8217;s inclusion of unrelated provisions to expand wilderness areas. Still, Senate passage is expected.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says he and President Barack Obama had &#8220;no major differences&#8221; that led to Hagel&#8217;s resignation. The former Republican senator from Nebraska says he simply came to the conclusion that it was the right time for him to step aside, and he leaves believing that he accomplished a great deal. The White House says President Barack Obama will announce Hagel&#8217;s replacement\u00a0Friday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; Senators from both parties are urging the National Football League to drop its rule barring home games from being televised in a local market if they have not sold out. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and John McCain say the NFL&#8217;s &#8220;blackout&#8221; rule is unfair to fans who have helped the league reap billions of dollars in revenue from broadcast rights.
