News Oct 22, 2012)\u00a0 &#8212; The Thundering Saints have donated $8,000 to Hospice of the Red River Valley, generated from proceeds of the fourth annual Debbie Gabel Memorial Ride held in Valley City on July 28, 2012.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The donation will be used to provide compassionate end-of-life care to those in Valley City and surrounding communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s ride a attracted approximately 200 motorcycle riders from the surrounding states.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The event also included an appearance from the Vikings cheerleaders, a breakfast served by Relay for Life, a raffle, a silent auction and supper at the VFW, and street dance.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The raffle&#8217;s grand prize, a 2012 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic, was won by a woman who has a son with cancer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Event founder, Rocky Gabel says, &#8220;We had another successful year. The proceeds of the event stay local, and the community has really rallied to make it a success.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Next year&#8217;s event is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Bismarck man ac\u00a0DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s state engineer says repairs have been completed at the east-end floodwater diversion outlet on Devils Lake.<br \/>\nOfficials on Monday were getting outlet operations restarted. He says officials are confident they can ramp up to the outlet&#8217;s maximum flow soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The east-end outlet came online earlier this summer, to<br \/>\ncomplement a west-end outlet. A pipeline leak earlier this month<br \/>\nled to ground erosion and pipe settling at the east-end structure.<br \/>\nSando says the repairs were covered under warranty.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Bismarck man accused of trying to lure a<br \/>\n13-year-old girl online for sex has pleaded not guilty.<br \/>\n28-year-old Aaron Masser pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of<br \/>\nluring a minor during a court hearing Monday.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents say Masser talked with a girl he believed to be<br \/>\n13 years old through Facebook, via text messages and on Yahoo<br \/>\nMessenger.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say Masser asked the girl to meet him at a<br \/>\nBismarck park, but when he arrived, he was met by investigators<br \/>\ninstead.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Masser reportedly told officers that he may have had sex with<br \/>\nthe girl if she had been willing.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Masser&#8217;s next court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 26.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota man who was driving<br \/>\ndrunk when he collided head-on with a vehicle and killed another<br \/>\nman has been sentenced to three years in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Douglas Baker of St. Michael, also known as Douglas Lawrence,<br \/>\npleaded guilty in federal court in July to involuntary<br \/>\nmanslaughter.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the September 2011 collision on the Spirit Lake<br \/>\nIndian Reservation killed Dana Grow, of Grand Forks.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say Baker&#8217;s blood-alcohol concentration was nearly three times the legal limit for driving.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says Baker was given credit for a<br \/>\nyear he has spent in tribal custody.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Baker also was ordered to pay a total of nearly $23,500 in<br \/>\nrestitution to Grow&#8217;s widow, medical insurer Blue Cross Blue Shield<br \/>\nand vehicle insurer Geico Direct.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D.
