Valley City, N.D., (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 22, 2012)\u00a0 — The Thundering Saints have donated $8,000 to Hospice of the Red River Valley, generated from proceeds of the fourth annual Debbie Gabel Memorial Ride held in Valley City on July 28, 2012.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The donation will be used to provide compassionate end-of-life care to those in Valley City and surrounding communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year’s ride a attracted approximately 200 motorcycle riders from the surrounding states.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The event also included an appearance from the Vikings cheerleaders, a breakfast served by Relay for Life, a raffle, a silent auction and supper at the VFW, and street dance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The raffle’s grand prize, a 2012 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic, was won by a woman who has a son with cancer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Event founder, Rocky Gabel says, “We had another successful year. The proceeds of the event stay local, and the community has really rallied to make it a success.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Next year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, 2013.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A Bismarck man ac\u00a0DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s state engineer says repairs have been completed at the east-end floodwater diversion outlet on Devils Lake.
\nOfficials on Monday were getting outlet operations restarted. He says officials are confident they can ramp up to the outlet’s maximum flow soon.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The east-end outlet came online earlier this summer, to
\ncomplement a west-end outlet. A pipeline leak earlier this month
\nled to ground erosion and pipe settling at the east-end structure.
\nSando says the repairs were covered under warranty.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A Bismarck man accused of trying to lure a
\n13-year-old girl online for sex has pleaded not guilty.
\n28-year-old Aaron Masser pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of
\nluring a minor during a court hearing Monday.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents say Masser talked with a girl he believed to be
\n13 years old through Facebook, via text messages and on Yahoo
\nMessenger.<\/p>\n

Authorities say Masser asked the girl to meet him at a
\nBismarck park, but when he arrived, he was met by investigators
\ninstead.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Masser reportedly told officers that he may have had sex with
\nthe girl if she had been willing.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Masser’s next court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 26.<\/p>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – A North Dakota man who was driving
\ndrunk when he collided head-on with a vehicle and killed another
\nman has been sentenced to three years in prison.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Douglas Baker of St. Michael, also known as Douglas Lawrence,
\npleaded guilty in federal court in July to involuntary
\nmanslaughter.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the September 2011 collision on the Spirit Lake
\nIndian Reservation killed Dana Grow, of Grand Forks.<\/p>\n

Authorities say Baker’s blood-alcohol concentration was nearly three times the legal limit for driving.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says Baker was given credit for a
\nyear he has spent in tribal custody.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Baker also was ordered to pay a total of nearly $23,500 in
\nrestitution to Grow’s widow, medical insurer Blue Cross Blue Shield
\nand vehicle insurer Geico Direct.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency
\nhas doled out another $1.1 million to support new housing for law
\nofficers in the western oil patch.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The money is what remained of $3 million that earlier was
\nearmarked for the Law Enforcement Pilot Program. The money comes
\nfrom North Dakota’s share of a multistate lawsuit settlement with
\nU.S. mortgage lenders.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Housing is in short supply as the booming oil patch draws people
\nfrom around the country. The Law Enforcement Pilot Program helped
\nhousing projects in Belfield, Crosby, Dickinson, Killdeer, Minot,
\nRay, Stanley, Watford City and Williston.<\/p>\n

\u00a0SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Former American Indian Movement
\nactivist and actor Russell Means has died.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Oglala Sioux Tribe spokeswoman Donna Salomon says Means died
\nMonday morning at his ranch in Porcupine, S.D. Means was 72.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Means helped lead the 1973 uprising at Wounded Knee, reveled in
\nstirring up attention and appeared in Hollywood films, including
\n“The Last of the Mohicans.”
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Wanblee native grew up in the San Francisco area. He
\ndeveloped inoperable throat cancer and eschewed mainstream medical
\ntreatments for traditional American Indian and alternative
\nremedies.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 AIM was founded in the late 1960s to protest the U.S.
\ngovernment’s treatment of Native Americans and demand the
\ngovernment honor its treaties with Indian tribes.<\/p>\n

It was oft embroiled in controversy, partly because of the organization’s
\nalleged involvement in the 1975 murder of Annie Mae Aquash.

\nshooting seven women at his wife’s workplace, three of them
\nfatally.

It plans to sell 240 pieces of its collection of 11.5
\nmillion photos and original illustrations at auction in December.
\nIt’s the first time any of the institution’s collection will go up
\nfor sale and the auction is expected to bring about $3 million.<\/p>\n

It will include a portrait of Admiral Robert Peary at his 1908
