LOWS 15 TO 20.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) At their annual meeting, Jamestown Tourism Board of Directors<\/p>\n<p>discussed adding to the Jamestown campsites.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Committee has discussed the possibility of having tourism lead an effort to develop another campground or assist a business or concessionaire in building a new campground in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund said this winter and spring he will take a new camping informational booklet, including Jamestown Tourism\u2019s new promotional materials to various trade shows around the country to promote Jamestown as an outdoors destination.<\/p>\n<p>At the meeting the board also reviewed 2014 accomplishments and reviewed possible goals for 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The board unanimously appointed its 2015 officers, who as the board\u2019s executive committee.<\/p>\n<p>Mitzi Hager: president<\/p>\n<p>Tanea Clocksene: president-elect<\/p>\n<p>Beth Dewald: reappointed treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>Jon Lillejord and Matthew Wood: at-large members.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000ST. LOUIS (AP) &#8211; North Dakota and Arkansas have asked a federal appeals court in St. Louis to reinstate two of the nation&#8217;s most stringent abortion bans.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments in the cases Tuesday. The states want to reinstate abortion restrictions approved by lawmakers in 2013 but overturned by lower federal courts in separate decisions.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota law banned abortions when a fetal heartbeat can be detected, which can be as early as six weeks into pregnancy and before many women know they&#8217;re pregnant. A U.S. District Court judge in Bismarck ruled the law unconstitutional in April 2014.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Arkansas law banned abortions after 12 weeks. Lawmakers in the Republican-controlled Legislature overrode former Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe&#8217;s veto.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The appeals court didn&#8217;t immediately rule.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Significant cracks have been found on the currently frozen Devils Lake raising concerns among some winter enthusiasts.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jeff Katzer a long-time fishing guide with Woodland Resort says the cracks are a few feet long in some places where typically only small cracks would show up. There are about 24 inches of ice on the lake in most places.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Katzer says the resort has built ramps over the cracks in order to allow anglers and staff to move to and from ice houses safely. He says the problem is of such magnitude that the winter season&#8217;s &#8220;roads&#8221; on the lake have been temporarily shut down.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Katzer says the warmer temperatures in the forecast for later this week will only make matters worse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000Update..<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota lawmaker is pushing a measure that would grant immunity for someone who calls authorities to report a drug overdose.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Republican Sen. Howard Anderson says the bill is aimed at saving lives. The retired Turtle Lake pharmacist says there are cases in North Dakota in which drug overdoses have gone unreported for fear of criminal prosecution.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Senate Judiciary Committee took testimony on the bill Tuesday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tyler Auck of Bismarck said he&#8217;s a recovering drug user and urged lawmakers to pass the measure. Auck said he once overdosed on drugs and was left to die because his acquaintances were afraid to call authorities, fearing they would go to jail.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The National Conference of State Legislatures says more than 20 states have some form of a drug immunity law.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D.
