Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Police continue with its investigation stemming from a vehicle pursuit that occurred Thursday evening in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Assistant Chief John Johnson says the chase started about 8:30-p.m. in the 1300 block of 4th Avenue Northwest, and continued as \u00a0the individual eluded \u00a0police through the northwest, \u00a0northeast, then southeast, as the individual lost police out of town.<\/p>\n

The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol assisted in the chase.<\/p>\n

Authorities are looking for the vehicle and driver, having the make and license plate number. \u00a0Information on what led to the pursuit is not available.<\/p>\n

The public does not<\/strong> need to be on the lookout for the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) Stutsman County Official\u2019s assisted local agencies in the rescue of a man trapped nearly up to his chest,\u00a0in a grain bin last Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Kensal Fire Department, Carrington Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office, and Jamestown and Carrington Ambulance Services responded to a call about 12:30-p.m. of a man trapped in a bin of soybeans at Kensal Farmers Elevator Co.\u00a0He was later identified as Dave Jones.<\/p>\n

Carrington Volunteer Fire and Rescue\u00a0 used\u00a0extraction equipment, a grain rescue tube, \u00a0to rescue him.<\/p>\n

Rescuers assembled the tube to remove grain between the inside of the tube, and\u00a0Jones.<\/p>\n

Carrington Ambulance transported him to the Carrington Health Center,where he was treated and released.<\/p>\n

Kensal Farmers Elevator, General Managerm Cris Breidebach Jones is now\u00a0in good condition.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) On Tuesday January 20, 2015 Jamestown Public Schools will host the next community meeting at 6:30-p.m., at the Jamestown Middle School, Thompson Room.<\/p>\n

On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown Public School Superintendent Rob Lech said, public input is being solicited concerning the the long-range facilities planning, including a facilities assessment, staff and community engagement, and ultimately assistance with approving the long-range facility plan, that would be adopted by the Jamestown Public School Board.<\/p>\n

A boundary analysis will be made for K-5 schools, to meet capacity limits.<\/p>\n

He said the input is needed as the school district makes difficult decisions regarding facilities, short-term and long-term. The community input will help the school district understand what students and the community needs, and the level of support for each of these concepts.<\/p>\n

Lech added that the January 20th<\/sup> public meeting will give the school district perspectives necessary to make the best possible decisions for Jamestown Public Schools.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Tourism Grant\/Executive Advisory Board met Friday at the CSi Technology Center, at Historic Franklin School.<\/p>\n

No grant requests were on the agenda, so the board discussed and reviewed other business, and reviewed Executive Director, Searle Swedlund\u2019s job performance and salary increase.<\/p>\n

During his reports, Swedlund said the Calendar Committee met this week and the planning process is in the “technical component.” It a good cross-section of stake-holder were in attendance.<\/p>\n

He also pointed out that representatives of the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse Committee will be requesting some funding from the state legislature.<\/p>\n

He presented a 2015 Grant Allocation workshop sheet that indicated anticipated requests and projected dollar amounts.<\/p>\n

Also reviewed was the grant fund request guidelines, along with eligible grant funding recipients. Possible additional categories were discussed.<\/p>\n

The board directed Swedlund to meeting with Civic Center Manager Pam Fosse to develop a one page grant request sheet to be included to entice organizations to hold events in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

It was discussed if tourism can influence expanding camping opportunities in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Remaining 2014 Grant and Operating dollars were allocated into the 2015 budget.<\/p>\n

Remaining Operating Funds were approved to go into the 2015 General Operating Fund, in the amount of $4,135.<\/p>\n

Grant dollars of $5,919 was applied to the city held Capital Improvement Fund.<\/p>\n

Swedlund commented that the Frontier Village Association Board has authorization and identification issues that need addressing.<\/p>\n

It was pointed out that the FVA has hired a CPA for accounting purposes.<\/p>\n

In closed Executive Session the board discussed Swedlund\u2019s annual job performance review. Returning to Regular Session the board voted unanimously to give Swedlund a salary increase of $7, 000 annually.<\/p>\n

Board President, Mitzi Hager said Swedlund has done a “fantastic job,” in his postion, and had brought tourism, “into the 21st<\/sup> Century,” with his “hands-on,” approach.<\/p>\n

Civic Center Manager Pam Fosse told the board that the North Dakota Dance and Drill team competition next weekend, is expected to have 39 teams competing.<\/p>\n

\u00a0MANDAN, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have identified a Bismarck woman who was struck and killed by a semi-trailer on Interstate 94 in Mandan.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol says 42-year-old Jaclene Grey was hit about 1 a.m. Saturday, and declared dead at the scene.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the 55-year-old Wisconsin man driving the semi was unable to avoid Grey when she entered the roadway. No charges were filed.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Four children and two adults were treated for exposure to carbon monoxide after high levels of the potentially deadly gas filled a pool area at a Bismarck hotel.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Two Holiday Inn Express employees who helped evacuate the pool area Sunday afternoon also were taken to hospitals as a precaution.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emergency officials\u00a0 say it appears a boiler in a room adjoining the pool area was to blame for the high carbon monoxide levels. The boiler was shut down and the area ventilated.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s Game and Fish Department is accepting entries for the design of a 2015 Earth Day patch.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The contest for students ages 6-18 is part of the agency’s annual Earth Day awareness campaign. The deadline to submit entries is March 15. Earth Day is April 22.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Game and Fish Department will announce a winner in three age categories – 6-9, 10-13 and 14-18. Each winner will receive a pair of binoculars. The final patch design will be chosen from among the three winners.

Mayville (CSi) Barnesville, Minnesota native and current Mayville State University freshman tight end Matthew Holland died Saturday morning from seizures.<\/p>\n

That, according to Barnesville athletic director and football coach Bryan Strand.<\/p>\n

Holland played baseball, basketball and football for Barnesville High School before following in the footsteps of his older brother James and signing a national letter of intent to play football for Mayville State in February.<\/p>\n

Former classmates and friends took to social media Saturday to honor Holland.<\/p>\n

A person with knowledge of the negotiations told The Associated Press that Broncos GM John Elway is hashing out a four-year contract with Gary Kubiak. Kubiak was Elway’s backup QB from 1983-91 and Denver’s offensive coordinator from 1995-2005 under Mike Shanahan.<\/p>\n

One of those killed was the son of a slain Hezbollah military chief.
