Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Civic Center, this Saturday January 31, 2015, will host the Jamestown Classic Car Club\u2019s Winter Wheels Show from 9-a.m., to 6-p.m.<\/p>\n
Tickets are $8 for adults, and $2 for children 6-10 years old.<\/p>\n
In addition to the classic vehicles on display, this year\u2019s event includes a two-seater<\/p>\n
1936 Auburn “boat-tail,” car, one of only 500 produced.<\/p>\n
Also at the show is a “789” with a Corvette Chassis, which was made in California by n2a (no two alike) Motors,<\/p>\n
The vehicle has a Chevy 1957 front end, a 1958 middle and a 1959 back The Corvette chassis is the base frame, with the vehicle including of a the wheels, frame, motor and engine.<\/p>\n
So far over 50 antique\/classic vehicles are expected, drawing about 900 spectators, with registrants expected from North Dakota, Minnesota, and Canada. .<\/p>\n
The car show, is sponsored by Jamestown Classic Car Club, and Jamestown Tourism.<\/p>\n

Grand Forks (CSi) A total of $371,705 in scholarships has been awarded to 135 medical students at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences for the 2014\u20132015 academic year.<\/p>\n
Funds for the scholarships come from various private sources, endowments and scholarship funds.<\/p>\n

Bismarck (CSi) District 29 Democratic Representative Jessica Haak, and District 29 Democratic State Senator, John Grabinger are co-sponsoring House Bill HB 1321, to offer more protection for victims of stalking.<\/p>\n
Haak testified Wednesday before the state house Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n
North Dakota has no current protections for unauthorized GPS and electronic device tracking as related to stalking.<\/p>\n
The bill adds unauthorized GPS and electronic device tracking as a crime under North Dakota\u2019s current anti-stalking law.<\/p>\n
If passed, this bill would ensure law enforcement and prosecutors have the<\/p>\n
power to intervene in domestic violence cases as well as prosecute.<\/p>\n
The bill is in honor of Jacqueline Wisniewski of New York, whose surgeon ex-boyfriend stalked and killed her in 2012 after placing a GPS device in her car and purse.<\/p>\n
Co-sponsors of the bill include Representatives Roger Brabandt, R-Minot; Lois Delmore, D-Grand Forks; Mary Johnson, R-Fargo; Lawrence Klemin, R-Bismarck; and Sens. Kelly Armstrong, R-Dickinson, and John Grabinger, D-Jamestown.<\/p>\n

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have suspended the water search again for a snowmobiler who is believed to have gone through the ice on the Sheyenne River at West Fargo.

(AP) – A Fargo attorney who won a court battle over a confiscated pay loader is criticizing legislation that would allow police officers rather than a judge decide what happens to allegedly stolen property. The proposal by Representative Kim Koppelman of West Fargo would repeal two sections of state law that require police to hold confiscated property until a judge decides what to do with it. Fargo attorney Mark Friese says he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to take the courts out of the process.

\u3000\u00a0HILLSBORO, N.D. (AP) – A Minnesota man has been sentenced to spend 15 years in prison for a traffic crash that killed two sisters in eastern North Dakota.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 James Yahnke (YAWNK’-ee), of Nielsville, Minnesota, pleaded guilty in December to vehicular homicide in the May 2014 deaths of 23-year-old Mercedes Rowley, of Sharon, North Dakota, and 21-year-old Teja (TAY’-tah) Beyer, of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yahnke was accused of being drunk and speeding on a Traill County road north of Hillsboro and losing control of the car, leading to the crash. The two women were passengers in the vehicle. They were thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yahnke will be on probation for 10 years following his prison time.<\/p>\n

\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – A Michigan man convicted of fatally stabbing his friend in a North Dakota oil patch crew camp is appealing his murder conviction.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thirty-three-year-old Ryan Anderson is appealing his conviction in the death of 32-year-old Christopher King. Both men came from Iron River, Michigan.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A jury in August found Anderson guilty of killing King in March 2013. Anderson was sentenced this month to 20 years in prison.\u00a0

\nAnderson has maintained his innocence, saying he stabbed King to death in self-defense. Authorities say the attack was part of an alcohol-fueled dispute at a crew camp between Ray and Tioga, northeast of Williston.

\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Department of Health says almost 21,000 gallons of oil and more than 19,000 gallons of brine have spilled near Williston.
