(AP) &#8211; A new report shows that a North Dakota college student who was found dead in a river last year was working for a regional drug task force as a confidential informant in the months before he died.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The independent state review also concluded that the drug task force handled its dealings with 20-year-old Andrew Sadek properly.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sadek went missing from the State College of Science in Wahpeton in early May 2014. His body was found in the Red River in late June. An autopsy concluded he died of a gunshot wound to the head. His death is still being investigated.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mother Tammy Sadek believes her son was pressured into working for the task force, and was murdered. A call to her home was not answered early Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of awards at Thursday evening&#8217;s Annual Banquet, at the Jamestown Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p>The Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award was presented to Casey Stoudt.<\/p>\n<p>Tim Burchill nominated Stoudt for the award.<\/p>\n<p>It outlines Stoudt&#8217;s participation on the board and as a fundraiser for the University of Jamestown, serving as treasurer for Jamestown Dollars for Scholars, serving on the board and as a fundraiser for the Jamestown Community Foundation and supporting the Jamestown Arts Center. He is also noted for originating an idea for Running of the Pink, which R.M. Stoudt still funds.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the Young Professional of the Year was Samantha Beckman in marketing \u00a0with Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the Business of the Year was Lifestyle Appliance\u00a0 and Entertainment Center.<\/p>\n<p>The Above and Beyond Award for volunteerism was given to Joan Morris.<\/p>\n<p>Morris is\u00a0 active in the Daily Bread &#8211; Jamestown program.<\/p>\n<p>She\u00a0\u00a0was a leader \u00a0in\u00a0the drive to raise funds and create a fast-pitch softball diamond in the community.<\/p>\n<p>Morris\u00a0is also on the FACE committee the Foundation for the Advancement of Christian Education, with St. John&#8217;s Academy in Jamestown, along with promotiing recycling in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 As of January 29, 2015, visitation restrictions at Jamestown Regional Medical Center have been removed. According to the North Dakota Department of Health, North Dakota has seen a steady decline in Influenza cases over the past three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>This season, Stutsman County reported a total of 109 cases of Influenza, of which 107 were Influenza A and two were confirmed as Type B.<\/p>\n<p>JRMC encourages the public to use the hand hygiene stations and masks located throughout the hospital. (AP) &#8211; The Highway Patrol has identified two Alexander teenagers who died when their car collided with a semitrailer in the western North Dakota oil patch.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say 18-year-old Brady Armour was driving the car and 16-year-old Nathan Sims was a passenger.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The crash happened on state Highway 23 north of Keane about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, after the car spun out of control on a curve. The driver of the semi was not hurt.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The Highway Patrol has identified a truck driver who died when his semitrailer veered off Interstate 29 south of Wahpeton. Authorities say 71-year-old William Lyman of Ayr was driving a semi that went through a ditch, into a field and then vaulted over a drainage ditch about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota State Hospital has refused to voluntarily take in a woman accused of leaving her 2- and 4-year-old daughters to die in an unheated car during a frigid winter day.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe attorney for 24-year-old Michelle Wounded Face withdrew a motion that would have sent the mother of two to the State Hospital in Jamestown for a psychiatric evaluation.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents show that the hospital refused to take her for voluntary commitment and gave away her bed to another patient this week.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Attorney Ryan Costello is now requesting that Wounded Face be moved to a Federal Bureau of Prisons Facility for treatment. His request also says that Wounded Face is improving under medication but needs a full evaluation before proceeding to trial.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s U.S. Senate delegation has voted to approve a bipartisan bill to construct the Keystone XL oil pipeline.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Republican Sen. John Hoeven and Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp (HYT&#8217;-kamp) were two of the 62 senators who voted in favor of sending the bill to President Barack Obama&#8217;s desk. The president has said he will veto any Keystone legislation that comes to him.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The pipeline proposed by TransCanada Corp. would transport Canadian oil through Montana and South Dakota to Nebraska, where it would connect with existing pipelines to carry the oil to refineries along the Gulf Coast.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Heitkamp said Thursday that Congress needs to support projects that are in the &#8220;best interest of our energy, economic and national security.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hoeven said the president needs to work with Congress to build a comprehensive energy plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BILLINGS, Mont.
