Jamestown (CSi) An Iowa man was the driver of a cattle hauler involved in the overturning accident last Friday near Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n
28 year-old Ross Van Kinkel of Inwood, Iowa was traveling eastbound on I-94 east of Exit 257 when the rig drifted into the left lane.<\/p>\n
He over-corrected and the unit tipped over on the driver\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

Van Kinkel was not wearing his seat belt and was not injured.<\/p>\n
He was cited for care required.<\/p>\n
The hauler contained 88 head of cattle with 23 dying in the accident.<\/p>\n
16 head of cattle that got loose, were herded into a makeshift cattle gate from as far away as the Menard\u2019s construction site. .<\/p>\n
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Jamestown Police were on scene to assist.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol\u00a0Friday morning was investigating what cause\u00a0\u00a0a cattle truck to overturn about 5-a.m., eastbound on I-94\u00a0east of \u00a0Exit 257 near Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n

Traffic was slowed on I-94 east and westbound,\u00a0 for a time, to allow access with wreckers on the scene.<\/p>\n
The rig was hauling 80 head of cattle, and 16 head of cattle that got loose, were herded into a makeshift cattle gate from as far away as the Menard\u2019s construction site.\u00a0.<\/p>\n
23\u00a0of the animals perished in the accident.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The scene was being tended to through early Friday afternoon, moving the dead and live cattle out of the cattle hauler and getting the live cattle moved into another hauler. .<\/p>\n
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Jamestown Police were on scene to assist.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s unclear what caused the truck to crash.<\/p>\n
