\"CityHallVC\"<\/a>Valley City (CSi) The Valley City Commission met in Regular Session Tuesday evening at City Hall.\u00a0All members were present.<\/p>\n

APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS INCLUDED:<\/p>\n

Approved the Monthly Reports from the Fire Chief, Building Inspector, Auditor, Municipal Judge and Public Works Accountant.<\/p>\n

Approved Monthly Bills for the City and Public Works in the Amount of $1,525,458.29<\/p>\n

Approved electrical, plumbing and heating license renewals for Hi-Line Electric, Kohn Electric LLC., John\u2019s Refrigeration & Electric, Inc., Peterson Mechanical Inc., Ryan Mechanical Inc, Bakkegard & Schell Inc., Great Plains Plumbing Inc., RJ\u2019s Plumbing and Heating Inc., Grant\u2019s Mechanical and Magnum Electric Inc.<\/p>\n

Approved a house moving license renewal for Liechty Homes, Inc. and Carrington House Moving.<\/p>\n

Approved a Raffle Permit for Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals and District 24 Democrats.<\/p>\n

PUBLIC HEARING:<\/p>\n

Open Public Hearing for Replat of Block 5 Granger\u2019s Addition, apartment building on Summit Properties, on Granger Hill. Each lot becomes individualized.<\/p>\n

City Attorney Myhre said the procedure is in compliance.<\/p>\n

Following the Public Hearing the City Commission approved a Resolution of Necessity for the Replat of Block 5 Granger\u2019s Addition.\u00a0 Commisioner Pedersen abstained from voting.<\/p>\n

Approved a\u00a0Resolution\u00a0 to Refer to Professional Land Surveyor to survey Block 5 Granger\u2019s Addition to the City of Valley City, Barnes County, North Dakota.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Commissioner Pedersen abstained from voting.<\/p>\n

Approved a\u00a0Resolution\u00a0 accepting final plans and specifications and advertising for bids for Water Main Improvement Districts No. 96B and 97. (<\/p>\n

ORDINANCES<\/p>\n

Approved the\u00a0second and final reading of\u00a0 an Ordinance to extend the Food and Beverage Sales Tax from 2020 to 2025.<\/p>\n

Approved \u00a0first reading of an Ordinance\u00a0 creating a restrictive covenant for structures to be removed in accordance with the State Water Commission. Attorney Myhre said the action is in conjunction with the flood buyout program.<\/p>\n

NEW BUSINESS<\/p>\n

Considered Request for Funds by VCBC Development Corporation for Creative Therapy in the amount of $5,000. Development Director Jennifer Feist pointed out Barnes County, does not have these types of services available, and is a critical part of health care.<\/p>\n

The City Commission voted unanimously to approve.<\/p>\n

Considered \u00a0a\u00a0request for Funds by VCBC Development Corporation for Small Projects in the amount of $10,000, from economic development funds.<\/p>\n

Considered approval of the agreement\/contract regarding animal shelter use between the City of Valley City and the Valley City Veterinary Hospital. Attorney Myhre said Drs. Fisher and the city have come to an agreement.<\/p>\n

IT WAS NOTED THAT \u00a0THE NEXT VALLEY CITY \u00a0COMMISSION MEETING WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, MARCH 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CITY ADMINISTRATORS REPORT<\/p>\n

With spring coming the frost depth will deepen and City Adminstrator Schelkoph said tap water temperatures should be 40 degrees or warmer.<\/p>\n

If the water temperature is lower run a faucet with a pencil thin amount of flow, to help prevent water pipe freeze-up.\u00a0 Notifiy the city and the water department will adjust water bills by estimates of previous bills<\/p>\n
