Sluder managed the business.

Investigators say Rodriguez Rios was among some workers who argued with Sluder and Story on Monday afternoon during a conversation about employee work performance.

Police say Rodriguez Rios admitted to shooting the two men with a handgun on Tuesday and throwing the gun in the sewage pit below the hog barns.

Court documents do not list a lawyer for Rodriguez Rios.

BISMARCK, N.D. Test results are pending for Crosby’s water.

LINCOLN, N.D. (AP) – Voters in Lincoln will go to the polls in June to decide whether to replace Mayor Bob Johnston.

City Auditor Mary Marvelsays the mayor’s opponents gathered the required 110 signatures to force a recall election on June 16.

Those behind the recall petition say they question Johnston’s credibility, his handling of city funds, as well as his use of the mayor’s position. Johnston has had disagreements with city council members since October over groundwater and drainage issues, and his plans to work with the Burleigh County Highway Department.

Johnston says the allegations are “unfounded” and that he will not resign before the election.

Marvel says if Johnston doesn’t step down before April 2 his name will be automatically listed on the ballot.

BISMARCK, N.D. In the ensuing years, the number of varsity sports offered at the University has grown to 16 and the number of student-athletes exceeds 500. During this same period, enrollment at the University has grown from just over 400 to nearly 1000 students.

University of Jamestown President, Robert S. Badal, says, “For over three decades, the space has served the community and the University. However, we are currently in the unfortunate situation where it is no longer serving either party well. The University has begun planning for the renovation and addition to the space to meet the needs of a growing student population.”

Expansion plans for the University will begin this spring with the addition of a turf field on the south side of the Larson Center.

As the University’s expansion plans continue to move forward, James River Family Fitness President, Rachel Liechty, says the proposed Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) would be the new home of JRFF.

Ms. Liechty says, “We are excited about TRAC being a vital part of meeting the needs of families in our community. Due to a variety of circumstances, JRFF needs to find a new location. TRAC would provide that needed space as JRFF would dissolve and become part of TRAC under the guidance of Jamestown Parks and Recreation.

She adds, “JRFF is Jamestown’s only full service family fitness center and provides many services to the community, including scholarships for youth fitness and is a major daycare provider in our city. Being part of TRAC would enable us to continue to offer a Learning Center for children, an aquatics areas for young and old, an enclosed turf surface for year round use, and a focus on family activities which will help attract new people to our community.”

James River Family Fitness Director, Frank Conlon adds, “We feel that both the University of Jamestown plus the city and surrounding community would benefit from the approval of TRAC. The University’s athletics would flourish with more practice space and more convenient practice times, while the members of TRAC would also have newer and better facilities and equipment at their disposal for their use. It would help to improve the health and welfare of the residents of Jamestown and the surrounding areas.”

Further discussions will be scheduled throughout the University’s expansion to allow the JRFF as much time as possible to notify their membership of the timetable once it has been established. Dr. Badal says, “We have partnered with YMCA and now JRFF in providing the community with access to fitness programs, it is our intent to continue supporting the community of Jamestown in pursuing options for such programs.”

In world and national news…

WASHINGTON (AP) – A U.S. official says the Army sergeant who abandoned his post in Afghanistan and was held by the Taliban for five years will be court martialed on charges of desertion and avoiding military service. The official says Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl (boh BURG’-dahl) will also be charged with misbehavior before the enemy. The announcement is being made this afternoon at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Bergdahl walked away from his post in Afghanistan and was captured, then released from Taliban capture in a prisoner exchange.

WASHINGTON (AP) – The State Department says a third American has been identified as a victim of the plane crash in France that killed a total of 150 people. The department said it is in contact with the victim’s next of kin but is not releasing the name out of respect for the family. A person close to the family earlier said a Virginia woman, Yvonne Selke, and her daughter Emily were among the victims.

SEYNE-LES-ALPES, France (AP) – The last communication from the German plane that crashed in the French Alps Tuesday was a routine one — about permission to continue on its route. That information comes today from the head of France’s aviation investigative agency. He also says some sound, including voices, has been recovered from the cockpit voice recorder — but that there are still no clues as to what caused the crash.

SANAA, Yemen (AP) – What was left of the U.S.-backed government of Yemen has now collapsed. The country’s president fled by boat today from the port city of Aden, as Shiite rebels and their allies advanced on the city. The rebels captured the country’s defense minister, and seized the airport in Aden. The U.S. had hoped that the Yemeni leader could stabilize the country and fight al-Qaida’s branch there.

ST. LOUIS (AP) – The attorney for a man accused of shooting and wounding two police officers during a demonstration in Ferguson, Missouri, says his client had nothing to do with the incident and police should be searching for the real shooter. Jeffrey Williams is accused of shooting the officers March 12, during an early-morning rally sparked by the resignation of Ferguson’s police chief. Prosecutors say Williams admitted firing a gun but said he was aiming at someone else. But his attorney says Williams told him he didn’t shoot a weapon that night.
