(AP) &#8211; Parts of northern North Dakota could see a<\/p>\n<p>foot or more of snow by the end of the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service says a storm is bearing down on the<\/p>\n<p>Northern Plains from the Rockies, and will hit in two waves.<\/p>\n<p>The first wave is expected to hit northwest and north central North<\/p>\n<p>Dakota on Thursday night and continue into Friday, and the second<\/p>\n<p>wave late Friday through Sunday morning is forecast to dump more<\/p>\n<p>snow.<\/p>\n<p>Southern areas in the west and central parts of North Dakota<\/p>\n<p>could see snow, sleet and freezing rain.<\/p>\n<p>The wintry mix could extend into parts of South Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. (AP) \u2013 Democratic candidate Heidi Heitkamp has won the U.S. Senate race in North Dakota, defeating Republican Rep. Rick Berg.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Heitkamp won the race by fewer than 3,000 votes, and Berg could have asked for a recount.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He conceded the race Wednesday with a qualifier: He was stepping aside barring\u00a0 any unforeseen circumstances with the state canvasing board that certifies the race results.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0That canvasing process is to begin Friday. It will account for late-arriving absentee ballots that were postmarked in time to be counted in the election.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Berg had been expected to win the race, and Republicans had counted on his victory in their failed attempt to take control of the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MANDAN, N.D. (AP) &#8211; After scratching out a victory in North<br \/>\nDakota&#8217;s hotly contested U.S. Senate race, Democrat Heidi Heitkamp<br \/>\nhas shunned the public spotlight. Heitkamp was refusing to talk to<br \/>\nreporters yesterday. She passed along messages through campaign<br \/>\nworkers that she&#8217;s taking Wednesday off to be with her family and<br \/>\nwill answer questions today.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s newest congressman says<br \/>\nhe&#8217;ll be resigning December 31st as a member of the state Public<br \/>\nService Commission. Kevin Cramer&#8217;s term on the regulatory board has<br \/>\nfour years left. He said yesterday he&#8217;ll quit at year&#8217;s end. In<br \/>\nearly January, he&#8217;ll be sworn in as North Dakota&#8217;s only member of<br \/>\nthe U.S. House.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wahpeton, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, two Tennesseeans were injured in a crash Wednesday afternoon (Nov 7, 2012).<\/p>\n<p>The accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Old Highway 13 and Highway 13 in Richland County.<\/p>\n<p>The report says, 51 year old Wayne Waytashek from Cambridge, Minnesota was operating a Kenworth truck, eastbound on Highway 13 when a vehicle driven by 25 year old Seirra Hummel from Smithville, Tennessee, turned onto Highway 13 westbound.<\/p>\n<p>Waytashek&#8217;s vehicle struck Hummel&#8217;s spinning it into the median and rolled several times.<\/p>\n<p>Hummel, along with her two-year-old male passenger, also from Tennessee, were taken to St. Francis Hospital, in Breckenridge, by Breckenridge ambulance and treated.<\/p>\n<p>The drivers were wearing seatbelts.<\/p>\n<p>The child was restrained in a car seat.<\/p>\n<p>Hummel&#8217;s vehicle was totaled.<\/p>\n<p>The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p>Assisting at the scene were Wahpeton police, and the Richland County Sheriff&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MANDAN, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A jury has found a Mandan accused of driving<br \/>\ndrunk and causing the deaths of three of his friends guilty of<br \/>\nmanslaughter.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Jurors found 24-year-old Taylor Berhow guilty yesterday of three counts of<br \/>\nmanslaughter after about four hours of deliberation. Authorities<br \/>\nallege that Berhow had a blood-alcohol level more than three times<br \/>\nthe legal limit for driving when he crashed into a tree on October<br \/>\n29th, 2011, killing 21-year-olds Charles Boehm and Trevor Erie and<br \/>\n22-year-old Eastmen Nadeau.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PHOENIX (AP) &#8211; The Maricopa County Sheriff&#8217;s Office in Arizona<br \/>\nsays one of its deputies is in custody for an alleged aggravated<br \/>\nassault in North Dakota. Sheriff&#8217;s officials announced yesterday<br \/>\nthat 41-year-old Timothy Abrahamson was arrested without incident<br \/>\nby deputies. MCSO says Abrahamson has been a deputy for seven<br \/>\nyears.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A convicted felon who walked away from a<br \/>\nMandan halfway house has been arrested in Fort Yates. Authorities<br \/>\nsay Christopher Young tampered with his GPS monitor before leaving<br \/>\nthe facility last month.
