Jamestown (CSi) University of Jamestown theatre director Mike McIntyre has announced an upcoming production of “Twelfth Night” to be performed April 16th<\/sup>, 17th<\/sup>, and 18th<\/sup> at 7:30 p.m. in Reiland\u2019s Denault Auditorium.<\/p>\n

On Thursday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSI Cable 2 McIntyre said,<\/p>\n

Twelfth Night is a Shakespeare comedy centering on a shipwreck where one half a set of twins survives. Viola, the surviving twin, disguises herself as her brother and becomes a servant to Count Orsino who sends her to woo Olivia for his sake. Olivia falls in love with the disguised Viola and Viola falls in love with Orsino. Then, in perfect Shakespearean comedic tradition, Viola\u2019s brother appears.<\/p>\n

On our show, students performing as part of the cast included: Hannah Erickson, and Brittany McIntyre.<\/p>\n

Valley City (CSi) Valley City Police is asking anyone in the public to come forward if they have details about a traffic accident that occurred early Thursday at Northwest Industries, in Valley City.<\/p>\n

A 20 year-old Valley City man faces a number of charges including driving under the influence and minor in possession of alcohol after he crashed his vehicle into outside signs, at about 1-am.<\/p>\n

Police Chief Fred Thompson says the man identified as Dakota A. Zaun, was driving a 2004 Hyundai west on main and failed to negotiate a curve in the road and crashed into a sign pole.<\/p>\n

Chief Thompson says an off duty EMT employee helped get Zaun out of the vehicle that caught fire. He was transported to CHI Mercy Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police officers and Valley City firefighters extinguished the vehicle fire at the scene.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Zaun was arrested and is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs and minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.<\/p>\n

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with details of this incident should call the Valley City police department at 845-3110.<\/p>\n

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The owner of a vegetable plant in central North Dakota has pleaded guilty to hiring and housing workers who were living in the country illegally.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fifty-two-year-old Monte Benz is charged in federal court with harboring the illegal workers. Authorities say he arranged for housing and transportation for the employees at his KIDCO Farms plant in Dawson.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say about two-dozen illegal workers were found at the plant during a law enforcement search.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The plea agreement calls for Benz to pay back $100,000 in illegal proceeds.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Benz’s lawyer declined to comment after Thursday’s hearing.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Richard Shearer, who was hired as a consultant to improve efficiency and supply labor for the plant, pleaded guilty last month to a harboring charge.<\/p>\n

Bismarck (CSi) the National Weather Service has scheduled a SKYWARN Weather Spotter Training Class at 7 p.m. Monday April 13, 2015, at the Medina Fire Hall, 107 College St. SE in Medina.<\/p>\n

The class will be conducted by John Paul Martin, warning coordination meteorologist from the National Weather Service in Bismarck. The class, which lasts about two hours, will focus on recognizing and understanding the different types of severe summer weather such as thunderstorms, downburst winds, flash floods, hail, and tornadoes. The class is free and open to all organizations and individuals who want to become more familiar with how to identify severe summer weather.<\/p>\n

Attending this class does not require an individual to become an official National Weather Service weather spotter. People who have previously attended this class are encouraged to attend again.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Legislature has passed a measure that keeps private some video taken by police or firefighters wearing body cameras.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The House on Thursday passed the measure 87-5 on Thursday. The Senate unanimously approved the bill last month.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The one-sentence measure says that images taken in a private place by law enforcement or firefighters is exempt from the state’s open records law.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Backers of the bill testified that it’s intended to protect the privacy of people interacting with authorities.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s Tax Department is revising figures for the state’s fourth quarter 2014 taxable sales and purchases after discovering errors.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deputy Tax Commissioner Joe Morrissettesays specific business reports are being checked to find the source of the faulty information. He says it appears some sales figures were reported as millions of dollars instead of thousands of dollars.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The report released Wednesday showed that taxable sales and purchases in the state during the last three months of last year increased nearly 17 percent from the same period in 2013, despite declining oil prices during those months.

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A state veterinary lab has confirmed the presence of bird flu in a commercial turkey flock but it’s still unclear whether it’s a highly contagious strain that has killed hundreds of thousands of poultry in the Midwest.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota State University’s Veterinary Diagnostic Lab says samples from the flock of 40,000 turkeys tested positive for H5 avian influenza after the Dickey County flock owner reported an increase in death rates.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State officials are still waiting to get confirmation from the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Ames, Iowa, on the exact strain of avian influenza.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police and sheriff’s departments from the region are putting together a metro street crimes unit to target outfits that include the “Fast Money Boys,” “Squad 400,” and “Lic Squad.”

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fargo Police Chief Dave Todd says gang members have moved to Fargo from Detroit, Chicago and the Twin Cities, and have participated in armed robberies, drive-by shootings, drug dealing and sex trafficking.

(AP) – A Williston man who authorities say got caught trying to steal a $14 pair of shoes at a Wal-Mart store is facing a dozen charges that could land him in prison for more than 50 years. The Herald reports 38-year-old William Jessop was arrested earlier this week. Authorities allege that he hit a store employee in the face with the shoes, head-butted an officer and kicked him in the face, and struck another officer in the face.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Soldiers with the North Dakota National Guard plan to conduct training exercises at a Missouri River recreational area south of Bismarck.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Guard says the event at Kimball Bottoms will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and finish about 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The area will be closed to the public during that time.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 More than 50 soldiers from the Guard’s 1st Battalion, 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment will be participating in the exercises.\u00a0\u00a0

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A 63-year-old tradition of barn dances near a small town in southeastern North Dakota will continue, under new ownership.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Julie and Delon Cahoon, of rural Casselton, bought the property that includes Johnson’s Barn, which has been a popular Friday night hangout since the first dance in 1952. They were originally shopping for a home for cows and wound up with the iconic dance barn.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Cahoons say they were convinced to keep the dances going after attending three dances at the barn near Arthur, about 35 miles northwest of Fargo. They say the atmosphere was electric and the dancers put on a great show.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The only change so far is the name, to Arthur’s Barn. The Cahoons will host their first dance on Friday night, featuring the band Jacked Up.<\/p>\n

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) – Legendary Dakotas high school and college coach Rollie Greeno is being inducted into the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The banquet is Saturday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The late Greeno is among 20 inductees.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Greeno was a teacher and coach for 52 years – 37 of them at what is now the University of Jamestown, where the football field is named in his honor. His teams won 81 conference championships in football, wrestling, track and field, and cross country.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Greeno was named college coach of the year in North Dakota in 1967 and 1985. He is a member of a number of other halls of fame, including the North Dakota Sports and NAIA Football Coaches halls.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Greeno died five years ago at the age of 84.<\/p>\n

The defectors are 7-footers Willie Cauley-Stein and Dakari Johnson, twin guards Andrew and Aaron Harrison, freshman forwards Karl-Anthony Towns and Trey Lyles and freshman backup guard Devin Booker. The 6-foot-11 Towns could be the first player chosen overall on June 25, while Cauley-Stein and Lyles are projected as possible lottery selections.<\/p>\n

(AP) – Authorities in northern Illinois say they are fairly confident that there are no further victims in the debris of a tornado that hit the tiny town of Fairdale, killing one person, injuring seven and sweeping homes off their foundations. Officials say they’ll be working today to make sure everyone is accounted for. Power is still out and the same storm system is now threatening large swaths of the Atlantic coast.

There was a chase after the guard was shot when he approached the car. The suspect and a police officer were wounded after the car was cornered. The kidnap victim is reported to be safe.

The car with four people inside plunged off a road into the water, killing a 13-year-old boy. An 8-year-old boy is hospitalized in grave condition. Officials say two adults made it to the surface and are in fair condition.
