(AP) &#8211; North Dakota lawmakers have approved legislation that increases the snowmobile &#8220;trail tax&#8221; that&#8217;s used to maintain state trails.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The House approved the Senate measure on Monday that increases the trail tax from $35 to $45. It now goes to Gov. Jack Dalrymple for his signature.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The bill also raises the trail access fee for out-of-state snowmobilers from $15 to $25.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Legislature estimates the increase will result in an additional $214,000 that will be deposited into the State Snowmobile Fund over the next two years.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The figure is based on 15,500 licensed snowmobiles in the state and 400 nonresidents who pay fees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BISMARCK, N.D.
