Jamestown (CSi) Fire fighters spent over three hours at a landfill fire on Thursday evening, about 8:30, about a mile east of the baler facility on city property.<\/p>\n

Debris and wood in the landfill were on fire.<\/p>\n

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther, says, there were no injuries or property damage.<\/p>\n

Seven city fire units and 32 fire fighters were called, and the Jamestown Rural Fire Department supplied two water tankers, without water access at the scene.<\/p>\n

Assisting the firefighters, the city staff used a payloader to cover the fire area with dirt to keep it from flaring up.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire is undetermined.<\/p>\n

Bismarck (CSi)\u00a0 The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reports, Jamestown airline boardings for March of 2015 were 727. In March of 2014 Jamestown was without airline service. In March of 2013, boardings in Jamestown with Great Lakes Airlines was 227.<\/p>\n

Through March this year, Jamestown boardings were 2,109.<\/p>\n

Devils Lake in March this year had boardings of 403. No airline service there in March of 2014, with the March 2013 numbers, in affiliation with Great Lakes Airlines at 154.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, Bismarck, and Devils Lake, all experienced a slight rise in boarding\u2019s from February to March.<\/p>\n

Most North Dakota airports showed a slight decline in boardings in March this year, compared to the previous month.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) This year\u2019s Annual Home & Garden Show will have double the vendors over 2014. The 2015 show is Saturday and Sunday June 18, 19, Saturday 9-a.m., to 5-p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5-p.m.<\/p>\n

The show is free of charge.<\/p>\n

On the Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce, Executive, Becky Thatcher-Keller said a variety of businesses will have products on display witht the main arena filled, and addtional booths set up on the concourse.<\/p>\n

Vendors signed up are from the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Montana.<\/p>\n

Ten presenters will also be giving free workshops during the weekend.<\/p>\n

Thatcher-Keller said more than 3,000 visitors came through the show last year and the Chamber is hoping for even more this year.<\/p>\n

Thatcher-Keller said the first 150 families who come through the doors each day will receive a certificate for a free tree seedling from the Soil Conservation District, while the second 150 families that pass through each day will receive a free organic packet of seeds for flowers or vegetables, sponsored by Flower Power.<\/p>\n

On display will be products for new construction or remodeling of homes, insurance agencies, and various financial services will be represented with information regarding refinancing or buying a home.<\/p>\n

Information on lawn, home and garden products and services will be avaialble, along with health and wellness services, and products such as massage therapy and Essential Oils will have booths.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be vendors on hand selling food and beverages and showcasing their products.<\/p>\n

The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce will also have a table at the show promoting Yard of the Week, the Flower Basket Program for the Chamber\u2019s City Beautification Committee and the Jamestown Downtown Association.<\/p>\n

She said various chamber committee members will represent and have information on their committees at the table.<\/p>\n

Becky added that the primary sponsors of the Home & Garden Show are: Dakota Rental Center, Infinity Building Services, Lifestyle Appliance and Entertainment Center, Midstate Realty LLC and Montana Dakota Utilities Co.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s Legislature has passed a bill that will cut individual income taxes by 10 percent and corporate income taxes by 5 percent.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The House endorsed the Senate bill 59-32 on Friday. It now heads to Gov. Jack Dalrymple for his signature.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The legislation is expected to reduce state revenue by about $108 million over the next two years. The legislation is nearly identical to what the governor had proposed earlier.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lawmakers began this session with several proposals to lower individual tax rates or to reduce them to zero.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Republican Rep. Jason Dockter of Bismarck says the tax cuts should save about $200 annually for a single person earning between $35,000 and $40,000 a year.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He says a middle-income family would get a tax break of about $300 annually.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Democrats and tribal leaders are opposing a bill by North Dakota’s Republican-led Legislature to restructure oil taxes as a hedge against falling crude prices.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Oil companies could see a big tax cut if crude prices continue to slide, and the state could lose billions of dollars. A state law forgives a 6.5 percent extraction tax if the five-month average price of oil slips below a “trigger” price. That trigger is expected to kick in June 1.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Republicans want to lower the extraction tax permanently to 4.5 percent if the trigger kicks in, instead of giving companies the tax break.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One-third of North Dakota’s oil production comes from the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. Three Affiliated Tribes Chairman Mark Fox says the tribes were not consulted when the bill was crafted.<\/p>\n

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have recovered the body of a Williston man who went missing while kayaking on Lake Sakakawea.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Williams County Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old John Drange was reported missing Thursday morning. His vehicle was found at Lewis and Clark State Park, and officials with local, state and federal agencies launched a search.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Searchers found his kayak on the shoreline near Tobacco Gardens Resort about mid-day Thursday. His body was found about a quarter mile west of there three hours later.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No foul play is suspected.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper has resigned amid investigations into possible misconduct.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The patrol says Jeremie Meisel quit on Monday, about a month after being placed on administrative leave.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The state crime bureau investigated whether Meisel wrote out tickets that he did not actually issue, to make it appear that he was writing more tickets. The Burleigh County State’s Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute, but the Highway Patrol was still in the midst of an internal investigation when Meisel resigned.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Meisel joined the patrol in 2005. A telephone listing for him was not in service Friday.<\/p>\n

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A Thompson woman is in custody after allegedly driving drunk on Interstate 29 with an infant child in the vehicle.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the 35-year-old woman was arrested about 5 a.m. Friday. Authorities say the woman was drunk and had a suspended license, and that the infant was not properly restrained.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The woman was arrested on misdemeanor driving offenses and on a felony child abuse or neglect charge. Formal charges were not immediately filed.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The child was turned over to Social Services.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The job involves presiding over Senate sessions when the lieutenant governor is absent.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Erbele replaces Bismarck Sen. Dick Dever. Erbele will have the job until the next regular session of the Legislature begins in January 2017.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The GOP has the majority in the North Dakota Senate, and Erbele defeated Fargo Democrat Tyler Axness on Friday to win the job.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Erbele is a rancher. He was first elected to the Senate in 2001.

\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – A developer spearheading a proposed $400 million housing and retail complex in downtown Bismarck has been chosen to redevelop the site of Williston’s airport after operations there are relocated.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Williston City Commission this week selected Phoenix-based Cardon Development Group to work with the city on a plan for the current site of Sloulin Field International Airport, which sits on 800 acres. Cardon was one of five finalists.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Traffic and passenger boardings have boomed at Williston’s airport along with oil development in the region in recent years. Regional jet service is now available to Minneapolis, Denver and Houston. Williston officials are planning a $250 million airport at a site 11 miles northwest of the oil patch hub.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kittell’s move from the Devils Lake school to the Bismarck school was announced Thursday. He was being formally introduced as the new coach of the Marauders on Friday.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Garrison native during his career has coached at the junior college, NAIA and NCAA Division I levels. In his two seasons at Lake Region, he led his teams to a record of 42-20.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – His lawyer calls him a “normal 23-year-old kid.” But authorities say the man who appeared in a Columbus, Ohio courtroom Friday had traveled to Syria and trained alongside terrorists — before returning home with plans to attack a military base or a prison. Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud (ab-dee-RAH’-mahn shayk moh-HAH’-mud) pleaded not guilty today to charges including supporting terrorism. He’s originally from Somalia, but became a U.S. citizen last year.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Nashville teenager has been arrested on a state terrorism charge — accused of threatening schools in Tennessee and three other states. Authorities say a joint investigation by police and the FBI led them to the student, who’s accused of being responsible for multiple emails and phone calls threatening violence. Police were so concerned about one of the threats Thursday that they closed a high school in Nashville and wouldn’t clear it to reopen until it had been swept by the bomb squad. The student hasn’t been identified, and police haven’t given his age.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) – A 17-year-old has been convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of an Australian college baseball player in Oklahoma. A jury Friday found Chancey Luna guilty in the death of Christopher Lane, who was shot in the back while jogging in the town of Duncan in 2013. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Defense attorneys acknowledged that he fired the fatal shot, but they said he only meant to scare Lane.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) – The issue of just how quickly the sanctions on Iran will be lifted could be resolved through what President Barack Obama calls “creative negotiations.” Iran wants the sanctions over its nuclear program to be lifted immediately as part of a deal with the U.S. and others — but the initial agreement calls for the penalties to be removed over time. Obama told reporters Friday that his main concern is making sure that if Iran violates the agreement, the sanctions can be quickly reinstated.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – People who want to buy the new Apple Watch won’t be able to walk into a store and leave with one — at least, not for the next several weeks.
