\"\"<\/a>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Jamestown Salvation Army kicks off the 2012 Kettle Campaign on Friday (Nov 16, 2012).<\/p>\n

It will run through December 24, 2012.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s goal is $146,000, up from $118,000 in 2011.<\/p>\n

The Kettle Campaign is the Salvation Army\u2019s biggest fundraiser of the year.<\/p>\n

Money raised in the various kettles around town will go to cover programs throughout the year.<\/p>\n

At last report, more than 1,300 bell ringing hours are still available.<\/p>\n

Organizations that have already committed to donate their time include,<\/p>\n

The Lions, Rotary and Kiwanis clubs, RSVP+, St. John\u2019s Lutheran Church, along with Ave Maria.<\/p>\n

To sign up to ring bells, call the Jamestown Salvation Army or online visit: www.salvationarmynorth. org\/jamestown.<\/p>\n

Businesses, and organizations or individuals may match donations, per kettle, per day or for a time period.<\/p>\n

Donors can be anonymous, or can have a sign showing their matching donations.<\/p>\n

The Salvation Army is also looking for businesses that will allow miniature kettles, or counter kettles, with 30 of those available.<\/p>\n

Kettles sites are at Kmart, Coborn\u2019s and Sears. On Nov. 23 there will be two kettles at Walmart and one at JCPenney.<\/p>\n

The Salvation Army is also accepting applicants for the Angel Tree program through December 7, 2012, to buy gifts for children newborn to 17 years old,who are in school and residents of Stutsman County.<\/p>\n

Last year 127 families applied for the Angel Tree program.<\/p>\n

To apply for gifts a parent must come to the Salvation Army, on First Avenue, North in Jamestown, between 10 a.m. and noon or 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday., and provide a valid form of identification for themselves and their child.<\/p>\n

Families may now apply for holiday food baskets.<\/p>\n

People do not need to apply for the Angel Tree to receive a food basket.<\/p>\n

Cargill and the Salvation Army hope to supply baskets for 110 families and 40 individuals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
