News Nov 20, 2012) &#8212; The Barnes County Commission Tuesday, learned that Valley City officials threatens Barnes County with a lawsuit for possible breach of their 9-1-1 contract with the city.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s if the county takes control before the existing contract expires in July of 2013.<\/p>\n<p>At the Barnes County Commission meeting, Valley City Administrator, David Schelkoph said the city has concerns about pushing the transition through before the January 1, 2013, deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Valley City commissioner Mary Lee Nielsen said more time is needed to ease the transition.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County State\u2019s Attorney Lee Grossman has advised the county commission to delay the transition until the contract expires in July, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County Commissioner Jon Froehlich feels the move is ill advised and will be costly for the county.<\/p>\n<p>There was no official motion to delay the January 1, 2013, transition date at Tuesday\u2019s Barnes County Commission meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Nov 21, 2012) &#8212; The Main Street Association invites the community to the City Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at 5:00 p.m., at the Jamestown Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p>Church members from Victory Lutheran Brethern Church will be in charge of the program with Pastor Shawn Bowman speaking and musicians from Victory providing the music.<\/p>\n<p>Cookies and refreshments will be provided, courtesy of the Corey Bayer familyand the Jamestown Civic Center. The tree lighting will be promptly at 5:30p.m. The public is invited to participate in the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>The tree was transported last Thursday morning and placed at it\u2019s outdoor location on the west side of the Civic Center by the Jamestown Street Department.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a 73 year old tree.<\/p>\n<p>It is 53 feet tall and 5 feet 6 inches around, 21.2 inches in diameter and weighs about 8,000 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>When lowered in the hole, the tree stands about 43 feet high.<\/p>\n<p>The lights were put on with the assistance of the Jamestown City Fire Department bucket truck.<\/p>\n<p>The tree\u2019s transportation and crane were donated by Schebenske and Sons of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Nov 19, 2012) &#8212; The Jamestown Public School Board Monday, discussed proposed changes to athletics.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of the initial proposal is $70,000.<\/p>\n<p>Superintendent Robert Toso introduced a proposal for chain of command organizational chart among administrators and coaches while creating a system to vertically articulate athletics from the middle school to the high school.<\/p>\n<p>An organizational chart was adopted by the school board in March.<\/p>\n<p>With the proposed changes, the school district would move activities director Jim Roaldson to the district office, and hire another secretary for him located at the district office.<\/p>\n<p>The plan would also give a current teacher additional prep periods to cover athletic direction at the high school, and establish a vertical articulation summer project.<\/p>\n<p>Proposed changes includes running all athletics through the director, who would report to administration at the three education levels, the Superintendent and finally the School Board.<\/p>\n<p>Toso told the school board members, that the administration doesn\u2019t feel comfortable having Mark Stilwell, assistant principal and activities director at the middle school, report to Roaldson, as the adopted organizational chart designated.<\/p>\n<p>School Board member, Gail Martin said she doesn\u2019t feel comfortable in spending $70,000, however, pieces of the proposal, &#8220;make sense.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Toso said he did not expect any action by the school board at Monday evening\u2019s meeting.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that this is a first proposal, and more input will be needed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A standing committee will work with the coach\u2019s council and bring discussion back to the board.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was recorded by CSi and is playing on CSi 10 THE REPLAY CHANNEL.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; A Public Input Meeting will be held on December 4, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Gladstone Inn &amp; Suites in Jamestown, to discuss possible wetland mitigation sites in Kidder and Stutsman Counties as well as the surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Input Meeting will utilize an open house format with a formal presentation at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>These projects consist of developing wetland mitigation sites to accommodate transportation projects by providing an avenue to offset wetland impacts resulting from area highway projects.<\/p>\n<p>NDDOT Environmental and Transportation Services staff will be present.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Input Meeting will utilize an open house format with a formal presentation at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>If unable to attend the Public Input Meeting, written statements or comments must be mailed by December 18, 2012 to: Sheri Lares, Environmental Section Leader; NDDOT Central Office; 608 E. (AP) &#8211; A prosecutor says a Fargo surgeon accused of<br \/>\ndrugging and raping his wife showed &#8220;extreme indifference to the<br \/>\nvalue of human life.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dr. Jon Norberg is charged with gross sexual imposition and<br \/>\nreckless endangerment. He&#8217;s accused of injecting Alonna Norberg<br \/>\nwith an anesthetic and having sex with her against her will.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prosecutor Gary Euren (yur-REEN&#8217;) told jurors in his closing<br \/>\nargument Tuesday that Alonna Norberg was unconscious and did not<br \/>\nhave the ability to give consent.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Said Euren, &#8220;It&#8217;s about Alonna Norberg being drugged with<br \/>\npropofol and Dr. Jon Norberg having sexual intercourse with her in<br \/>\nvarious forms. (AP) &#8211; A man who killed himself with a knife in<br \/>\nfront of law enforcement officers and has been called a &#8220;person of<br \/>\ninterest&#8221; in the slayings of a New Town woman and three of her<br \/>\ngrandchildren has been identified.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mountrail County Sheriff Ken Halvorson identified the man as<br \/>\n21-year-old Kalcie Eagle of New Town. Halvorson says Eagle killed<br \/>\nhimself in front of a deputy and a highway patrolman on Sunday<br \/>\nnight in Parshall.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Halvorson says authorities are still trying to determine what<br \/>\nrole &#8211; if any- Eagle played in the shooting deaths Sunday of<br \/>\n64-year-old Martha Johnson and three of her grandchildren.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 FBI spokesman Kyle Loven declined comment, citing the ongoing<br \/>\ninvestigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The director of the North Dakota<br \/>\nDepartment of Transportation is retiring at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Francis Ziegler has worked for the department for 42 years. He<br \/>\nwas appointed director of the agency in 2006.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gov. Jack Dalrymple has appointed Deputy Director Grant Levi to<br \/>\nserve as interim director when Ziegler steps down. Levi will serve<br \/>\nin the role through the 2013 Legislature.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The DOT employs more than 1,000 people and has a two-year budget<br \/>\nof about $1.7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D.
