The individuals escaped from a fenced outdoor enclosure at the treatment facility.<\/p>\n<p>The escapees are:<\/p>\n<p>Natonie Ann Decoteau, 33 YOA, Native American Female, 5\u20195&#8243;, 180 lbs, with short brown hair and brown eyes. Decoteau was in the custody of the ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and is considered an escaped inmate. She is currently serving a sentence for a probation violation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Valinda Belinda Jean Tyndall, 28 YOA, Native American Female, 5\u20193&#8243;, 140 lbs, pink\/blonde\/brown hair and brown eyes. Tyndall is under the supervision of the ND Parole and Probation and is considered an absconded probationer. She is currently on probation for an escape that occurred in 2014.\u00a0 Decoteau has ties to the Belcourt and Fargo, ND areas. Tyndall has ties to the Bismarck, ND area.<\/p>\n<p>The Highway Patrol is asking for the public\u2019s assistance in locating both Decoteau and Tyndall. If either Decoteau or Tyndall area spotted, do not approach them. Contact law enforcement immediately by dialing 911 or call North Dakota State Radio Communications Center at 1-800-472-2121.<\/p>\n<p>The women are not considered to be a danger to the public, according to a State Hospital staff person.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Updates here at CSiNewsNow.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Jamestown (CSi) The Frontier Village Association Board of Directors has elected Nellie Degen as a new board member with one decenting vote, from board member Ann Hess.<\/p>\n<p>She said that she did not object to Degen but wanted the board to wait and consider the four other candidates who had expressed interest but had not submitted a letter of interest to be considered.<\/p>\n<p>FVB President, Charlie Tanata said the board previously voted to advertise the position in the newspaper three times, with each ad giving instructions for written consent for a willingness to be on the board. Degen was the only candidate to do that and officially her application was the only one that could be considered by the board,<\/p>\n<p>Degen, said that she was interested in giving back to the community and would be proactive and resourceful with grant writing and fundraising to maintain and update the Frontier Village<\/p>\n<p>Degen said the Frontier Village is important to Jamestown with people coming from all over the U.S. to visit.<\/p>\n<p>A Frontier Village report from Tina Busche indicated that there were 134,000 visitors to Frontier Village in 2012 and 135,000 in 2014. Many of our regional airports have felt the stress of North Dakota\u2019s population growth, but with strong federal investments \u2013 like these funds provide \u2013 we can continue to make sure all North Dakotans are safe.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These funds, authorized by the U.S. Department of Transportation, are distributed as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 <b>Ellendale Municipal Airport &#8211; $300,000.<\/b> These funds will be used to rehabilitate the current runway lighting system to improve safety for pilots during low visibility conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport &#8211; $100,000. These funds will be used to reduce hazardous wildlife attractants and improve safety through wetland mitigation.<\/p>\n<p>In May, as part of her <span style=\"font-size: large;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.heitkamp.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm\/press-releases?ID=57a9bc4e-e965-45e4-ac99-12378f89e0a2\">Strong &amp; Safe Communities Initiative<\/a>, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.heitkamp.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm\/2015\/5\/heitkamp-brings-together-community-leaders-to-discuss-building-repairing-nd-roads-improving-safety\">brought together community leaders from Bismarck, Minot, and surrounding towns<\/a><span> to discuss the state\u2019s transportation infrastructure needs. The discussion focused on the importance of building and expanding roads and bridges across North Dakota to both improve safety and keep up with the increase of traffic on the roads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Also making the announcement U.S. Senator John Hoeven said, &#8220;Our airports play a critical role in North Dakota\u2019s economic success,&#8221; Hoeven said. &#8220;Today\u2019s DOT grants to the airport authorities in Jamestown and Ellendale will help keep pilots and passengers safe, and will allow these airports to continue to provide great service to central and south central North Dakota.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Hoeven works to support programs that invest in infrastructure and other services to meet the needs of North Dakota\u2019s growing population and commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Representative Kevin Cramer added, &#8220;Access to quality transportation is important for rural states like North Dakota. These funds provide resources for the Jamestown Regional Airport Authority to improve their facilities to serve the needs of their community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carrington (CSi) Rural Glenfield resident, Josh Dreher has been appointed to the Foster County Commissioners Board.<\/p>\n<p>The 33-year old will take over for Bill Bauer, who resigned last month due to health reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Dreher was the only applicant, and was on the November 2014 general election ballot.<\/p>\n<p>With the recent resignation of Bauer and the resignation of commissioner Leslie Gregor late last November, two spots needed to be filled. Earlier this year, Gregor was replaced by Pat Copenhaver, who was also on the November 2014 ballot.<\/p>\n<p>During the Foster County Special Commission meeting, State\u2019s Attorney Paul Murphy said that there were only two options, either accept Dreher, or reject all the applicants and start over.<\/p>\n<p>Dreher said that he will continue working for Bessette Motors of Carrington while serving as a commissioner. Dreher grew up on a family farm near the Lake Jaunita area and lives with his wife and four children in rural Glenfield.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BEULAH, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota Transportation Department officials have closed state Highway 49 near Beulah, Friday morning,\u00a0due to the crash of a semitrailer hauling sulfuric acid.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Highway Patrol Lt. Tom Iverson says acid spilled in the ditch about 4 miles south of Beulah. He says it&#8217;s unknown how much spilled and if there&#8217;s any environmental damage.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The unidentified driver was taken to a Hazen hospital with unknown injuries. No other vehicles were involved, and it&#8217;s unclear what led to the crash.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Iverson says the highway likely will be closed for some time as hazardous material crews clean up the spill.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Police in Bismarck have searched a van owned by a North Dakota doctor missing in southwestern Montana.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Patrick Fitzpatrick was last seen in Bozeman, Montana, on July 3. His vehicle and trailer were discovered abandoned in a rural area the next day.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The sheriff&#8217;s office in Montana&#8217;s Gallatin County asked Bismarck police to search a van the 74-year-old Fitzpatrick left parked in front of a Bismarck fishing tackle shop when he took off for Montana in a different vehicle.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Business owner Wade Anderson says Fitzpatrick had rented a space next to the business to park the trailer.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fitzpatrick is described as 6 feet tall and about 250 pounds, with gray eyes and white hair. He wears glasses. Acquaintances say he likes to shoot photographs in Montana.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Authorities have apprehended a Ward County Jail inmate who went missing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Twenty-eight-year-old Thomas Bott didn&#8217;t return to the jail from his work release job on Monday afternoon and was placed on &#8220;escape&#8221; status.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sheriff&#8217;s Lt. Larry Hubbard says Bott was caught on Thursday. He was arrested without incident while in a vehicle.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bott is in jail for a probation violation resulting from a burglary conviction.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Two people were injured in a collision involving a minivan and a Bismarck police car.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol says the van crashed into the passenger side of the squad car at an intersection Thursday afternoon.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The van&#8217;s driver and a passenger were taken to a hospital with injuries that authorities say are not life-threatening. Both are from Fort Yates. Charges are pending against the driver.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The police officer was not hurt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Officials from Wells Fargo Bank have given $1 million to the state to help kick off North Dakota&#8217;s Housing Incentive Fund.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The fund is to help developers who pledge to build affordable and low-income housing. Those who contribute are eligible for dollar-for-dollar state tax credits. The North Dakota Industrial Commission, the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency and Wells Fargo held a ceremony Thursday afternoon in Bismarck.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials announced that 24 developments have been awarded assistance from the fund for the new biennium and that the funding will help create 985 housing units.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The housing finance agency began accepting contributions into the fund on July 1. To honor its financial commitments, the agency must raise $30 million by Dec. 31, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Poor timing of rain has some ranchers in northwestern North Dakota and northeastern Montana worried about having enough hay to get their livestock through the next winter. Williams County Extension Agent Danielle Steinhoff says some ranchers are looking for hay to buy, and some are wondering if they might be forced to feed more expensive corn to their cattle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Senior military leaders from North Dakota say Congress should resist attempts to water down a bill that sets nutrition standards in schools.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Retired Generals Michael Haugen, Keith Bjerke, Jerald Engelman and Robert Schulte say a 2010 bill that promotes healthier meals in schools is a good step toward reversing the obesity epidemic and the legislation should be reauthorized.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The group cites a Department of Defense study showing that 73 percent of 17- to 24-year-old residents in the Dakotas are not currently eligible for military service, and obesity is a major reason.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The generals are asking the state&#8217;s congressional delegation to oppose attempts to weaken or roll back current guidelines.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp and Congressman Kevin Cramer were not immediately available for comment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D.
