Residents helped the driver detach the trailer and move it, sparing it from the fire.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Valley City Fire Department doused the fire. \u00a0Sgt. Dana Rustebakke of the Valley City Police Department says the vehicle was a total loss.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports the recent heavy rain events in northern Stutsman County have not significantly affected the reservoir levels or releases at Jamestown and Pipestem Reservoirs.<\/p>\n<p>Pipestem Dam Manager Bob Martin said Friday afternoon, at that time, Jamestown Reservoir was an inch and half below the flood storage level, releasing 13 cfs of water.<\/p>\n<p>The Pipestem Reservoir level was six feet into the flood storage area, which is no concern, with Pipestem Dam releasing 135 cfs, for a combined release of 148 cfs.<\/p>\n<p>Martin says there may be an increase in release from Jamestown Reservoir this coming Monday, when the level may get into the flood storage area.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Over 140 motorcyclists participated in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention\u2019s 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Annual Ride to Silence the Stigma, in Jamestown.\u00a0\u00a0 The event started Sunday afternoon at Stutsman Harley\u00a0 Davidson in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers say participation and funds raised doubled this year compared to 2014.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp\u00a0spoke \u00a0at the beginning of the Ride, speaking on \u00a0awareness about the realities of living with suicidal thoughts, Post-Traumatic Stress, bipolar disorder or Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n<p>Heitkamp continues to be a leader in the U.S. Senate to increase support and resources for mental and behavioral health care.<\/p>\n<p>Heitkamp said &#8220;finding a way to help those with suicidal thoughts is &#8220;absolutely, critically important. The more we know, we see that death by suicide is something we need to overcome.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Heitkamp added that more resources are necessary for people facing problems and their families<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Following her speech, Heitkamp participated in part of the ride.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0DC <span>Faber spoke on a post trauma experience model he developed to help deal with PTSD in veterans and trauma survivors during a Saturday presentation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He encouraged people to talk about the lives of those who have died by suicide.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Formal charges are pending against a woman who allegedly stabbed two men at the Kimball Bottoms recreation area on the Missouri River south of Bismarck.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Burleigh County Sheriff&#8217;s Office says the woman was arrested Saturday night after a drunken argument that sent one of the men to the hospital. Neither man&#8217;s injuries were considered life-threatening.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities also accuse the woman of smashing the windows of a vehicle belonging to a person who witnessed the incident. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s costs for expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act are higher than had been projected.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Department of Human Services has revised its cost estimates from $2.9 million to $8.2 million for the 2017 fiscal year. The agency says actual health care costs are higher than forecast when the state opted to expand the health program for the poor in 2013.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Data show 16,727 people were enrolled in the state&#8217;s expanded Medicaid program through December. Officials estimate 20,500 people will be eligible in 2020, which matches original projections.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota is among 30 states that expanded Medicaid. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler has approved new state standards for physical education.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The standards outline physical skills in basketball, soccer and other activities that North Dakota students are expected to have at specific grade levels. Kindergarteners, for example, should be able to hit a ball with a paddle. Sixth graders should be able to make a pass to a moving receiver while standing still.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The guidelines also focus on what a student needs to learn to maintain lifelong habits for physical activity.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A committee of North Dakota instructors and physical education experts wrote and reviewed the standards during the past year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota&#8217;s physical education goals were last revised in 2008. (AP) &#8211; Eight institutions of higher education in North Dakota have received a combined $2.5 million to provide a number of services to students from disadvantaged and underserved backgrounds.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The funds from the U.S. Department of Education are meant to be used to offer those students services including academic tutoring, course selection advisement and financial aid guidance.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. Sen. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s Public Service Commission is holding an informal work session on a $3.8 billion pipeline from western North Dakota to Illinois.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The three-member panel recently completed public hearings in Mandan, Killdeer and Williston on the Dakota Access project, which is the biggest-capacity pipeline proposed to date to move North Dakota crude.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The PSC will talk about the project today at a meeting at the state Capitol in Bismarck.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No action is expected but the panel may signal its intentions on whether the project may proceed over the objections of several landowners.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Almost 360 miles of the pipeline would pass through North Dakota.
