Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Nov 23, 2012) — The Jamestown City Fire Department was called Wednesday night, about 8:45 p.m., to 409 4th<\/sup> Street, Northeast. (The former Dardis Real Estate location.)<\/p>\n

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther says the initial call was for the Ready Squad to respond, to a smoke smell.<\/p>\n

Jamstown Police on the scene saw a haze, and called a general page for a full fire call response to the scene, with 5 units, and 18 firefighters.<\/p>\n

Chief Reuther says when the units arrived a wall was opened where a fire was located.<\/p>\n

Chief Reuther says the building contained multiple dwellings with two receiving fire and significant smoke damage.<\/p>\n

City firefighers were on the scene until 10:42 p.m.<\/p>\n

No Cause was immediately listed, with the fire under investigation and pending an insurance inspection.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo City Red Cross Chapter was on scene, and provided temporary living quarters for those displaced.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Jamestown Holiday Dazzle Parade was held on Friday evening (Nov 23, 2012) through downtown Jamestown.<\/p>\n

45 floats were entered.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Jamestown Main Street Downtown Association reported the winning float entries in the contest, judged before the parade, during the lineup at McElroy Park.<\/p>\n

Parade Judges were: Chris Rathjen, Jessica Haak, and Alex Looysen.<\/p>\n

The winner of the $500 First Place float was:\u00a0 Kitchen Solvers<\/p>\n

The winner of the $250 Second Place Award was:\u00a0 Real Truck<\/p>\n

The winner of the $100 Third Place Award was:\u00a0 Jamestown Area Ambulance Service.<\/p>\n

The parade was recorded by CSi-T.V. 10 THE REPLAY CHANNEL, and will be showing through the holiday season, watch for the replay dates.<\/p>\n

Following the parade, the community was invited to Shady\u2019s at the Gladstone Inn & Suites for the After Parade Party.<\/p>\n

The Jamestown Choralaires was hand to lead Christmas Sing-A-Longs.<\/p>\n

Coffee, Hot Chocolate and cookies were served compliments of Shady\u2019s and Coborn\u2019s of Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Valley City, (KCSi-T.V. News)\u00a0 —\u00a0 The Barnes County, Valley City Salvation Army Kettle Campaign is in full swing and volunteer bell ringers are needed.<\/p>\n

This years goal is to raise $32,000 dollars.<\/p>\n

In 2011 a record $44,000 was raised in Barnes County.<\/p>\n

Indviduals, businesses, service clubs and any others wishing to volunteer their time for bell ringing should contact Joe Lunde at 845-1974.<\/p>\n

Bell ringers are needed in Valley City at Shopko (the former Pamida store,) Marketplace Foods and Leevers Foods.<\/p>\n

ARTHUR, N.D. (AP) – Residents who noticed a house burning in
\nArthur rescued a 20-year-old man from the home before it was
\nheavily damaged in a fire.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Arthur Volunteer Fire Department Chief Casey Zieske\u00a0says \u00a0the witnesses went into the house Thursday afternoon before authorities arrived and rescued the man, who was asleep on the couch. He was not injured.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The man is the son of the house’s owner, who was not home at the
\ntime.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Zieske says the house is “pretty much gone” and was heavily
\ndamaged. The detached garage was untouched.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cause of the fire is unknown, but it appears to have started
\nin the basement.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) – Police in Dickinson are investigating a
\nfatal hit-and-run incident.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say 47-year-old Tracy Freer was struck early
\nWednesday in the parking lot of a local hotel. He died from his
\ninjuries later at a hospital.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BUCYRUS, N.D. (AP) – A relief fund set up to help residents of a
\nsouthwestern North Dakota town devastated by a wildfire has
\nsurpassed $100,000.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lemmon, S.D.-based Dakota Plains Federal Credit Union set up the
\nfund after the Oct. 17 fire swept through Bucyrus (boo-CY’-ruhs).
\nThe blaze destroyed four homes in the town of 27 people.<\/p>\n

Some families still are displaced.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The credit union is continuing to accept donations. More

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota officials are urging anyone
\nwho spots a wild pig to report it immediately, after sightings in
\nneighboring states.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Veterinarian Susan Keller says wild pigs – also known as
\nferal swine – can carry diseases that can threaten domestic pigs
\nand other livestock. Jeb Williams with the state Game and Fish
\nDepartment says wild pigs also compete with native wildlife for
\nfood and destroy habitat.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One recent sighting was near Britton in northeastern South
\nDakota in late October. Kyle Siebels and Cody Packard were helping
\na farmer harvest corn when a wild pig ran out of the corn. They
\nkilled it with four bullets from a deer rifle. Siebels tells the
\nAmerican News that the tusked boar was about 6 feet long and 3 feet
\ntall.<\/p>\n

\u00a0NEW YORK (AP) – The first day of the traditional holiday
\nshopping season has apparently had a positive effect on the stock
\nmarket. Although trading was thin on an abbreviated session on Wall
\nStreet — about 1.4 billion shares — the Dow shot up 172 points Friday to
\n13,009. That’s the first close above 13,000 for the Dow since
\nElection Day.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UNDATED (AP) – Not everyone has been taking advantage of the
\nearlier-than-usual store openings on Black Friday. Joe Russell was
\nhunting for a great deal on a large screen TV and went to Best Buy
\nstore in Watertown, Mass., shortly after midnight. But he thought
\ntwice about it after seeing the long line of shoppers gunning for
\ndoorbuster promotions in freezing temperatures. Russell, who says
\nthis is earliest he’s ever shopped, returned to the store after
\nsunrise and got a different TV for “a decent price.”

\nprotests across cities in Egypt. Thousands of opponents of
\nPresident Mohammed Morsi clashed with his supporters Friday, burning
\nseveral offices of the Muslim Brotherhood. These are the most
\nviolent and widespread protests since Morsi came to power. Morsi
\nrecently granted himself sweeping powers — powers that his critics
\nframe as dictatorial.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ST. LOUIS (AP) – Barge traffic on the Mississippi River is in
\ndanger of coming to a halt within weeks. That’s because the Army
\nCorps of Engineers has begun reducing the flow from a Missouri
\nRiver reservoir. A corps spokeswoman says the reduced flow is
\nnecessary because of one of the worst droughts in in decades. Barge
\noperators and those who ship on the Mississippi are warning of
\neconomic catastrophe if barge traffic is stopped.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – The doubling of Powerball ticket prices
\nis leading to bigger jackpots. The jackpot for Saturday’s drawing
\nstands at $325 million — the fourth-largest sum in the game’s
\nhistory. According to a Powerball official, the number of tickets
\nsold has decreased since the price went to $2 in January, but sales
