Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Regional Airport reports, 872 commercial passenger boardings in July, making it the highest total in a month since 1978, when Jamestown boardings were at 10,000 per year, with three or four Boeing 727 aircrafts per day.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Airport Manager Sam Seafeldt told the Regional Airport Authority members that with the 450 August boardings through Tuesday the total boardings for the year come to 5,226.<\/p>\n

Regional Airport Authority Chairman Jim Boyd said the goal is to reach 10,000 passengers per year and with the step up in possible funding that comes with the increase, and then Jamestown Regional Airport should aim for 15,000 passengers per year.<\/p>\n

In other business, the Airport Authority received a new aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle on Wednesday. The $512,000 vehicle is 90 percent federally funded with the state of North Dakota and the Airport Authority pitching in around $25,000 each and the Federal Aviation Administration with another $23,000.<\/p>\n

The sale includes a $43,000 trade-in value of the current aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle.<\/p>\n

The new vehicle has three times the capacity and holds 1,500 gallons of water versus a 500-gallon tank in the current vehicle. The new vehicle pumps 1,800 gallons per minute with two turrets versus the 600 gallons per minute with one turret in the current truck.<\/p>\n

Linda Schauer of Schauer & Associates PC presented the authority audit report. The report found a deficiency with the financial statement preparation process and recommended that the Airport Authority designate an individual or firm to be responsible for the financial reports.<\/p>\n

The board also approved a $3,741 bid for a new public-address system that will alert passengers with information and boarding information inside and outside the terminal\u2026.and approve an aggregate 4.5 percent budget increase for employee raises with airport manager discretion effective Octobers 1st<\/sup>, and approved the performance appraisal of Manager, Sam Seafeldt.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The South Central Dakota Regional Council Executive Board met Wednesday with the Stutsman County Commission talking about the Commission’s decision to delay a decision on whether or not it will pay the county’s share in dues to remain a member of the Regional Council.<\/p>\n

City of Buchanan representative on the Regional Council, Kim Lees said he has reached out to two Stutsman County commissioners, but both have suggested the Regional Council meet with Casey Bradley, county auditor\/chief operating officer, to discuss the matter.<\/p>\n

The Regional Council will continue to try and reach an understanding with the Stutsman County Commission. The Regional Council also directed Deb Kantrud, Regional Council executive director, to give a copy of the Regional Council’s budget to the County Commission and Bradley.<\/p>\n

At its August 4th meeting, the Stutsman County Commission indicated it would not approve paying the county’s share of the $34,824 due that would be split with the city of Jamestown. The county’s share would be around $13,000. The city and county use economic development funds to pay the dues for the Regional Council through the Jamestown\/Stutsman Development Corp.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Arts Center reports that The Dinner Theater production of Beyond Therapy (scheduled for this weekend) has been cancelled. <\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the lead actors has had a death in the family and has to travel out of state for the funeral.<\/p>\n

The show must go on! The show is rescheduled for:
\nSeptember 10 and 11, 2015 at 7:00 pm. <\/strong>This will be theater only, no dinner will be served. Tickets now are $15 or $10 for arts center members.
