(AP) &#8211; Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen has been fined $21,000 for a hit on Chicago Bears guard Lance<br \/>\nLouis on Sunday.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A person with knowledge of the fine tells The Associated Press<br \/>\nthat it was levied Wednesday, three days after he knocked Louis out<br \/>\nfor the season with a hit that injured Louis&#8217; left knee.<\/p>\n<p>The person requested anonymity because the league has not announced the fine.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Allen hit Louis after an interception by Antoine Winfield. Louis<br \/>\ndidn&#8217;t see Allen coming, and his leg stuck in the turf on the hit<br \/>\nand tore the ACL in his left knee. Several Bears, including coach<br \/>\nLovie Smith, said they thought the hit was unnecessary and dirty.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Allen said after the game he never intended to injure Louis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.
