Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown\/Stutsman County United Way campaign kickoff was an outdoor movie event at Jack Brown Stadium, in cooperation with Jamestown Parks and Recreation, on Friday September 18, 2015.<\/p>\n

The United Way goal for 2015-16 is $210,000<\/strong>\u00a0with the theme “United for Stutsman County.” \u00a0The United Way currently funds 19 agencies. 99% of funds raised stays in the community. \u00a0Last year that goal was exceeded, raising $222,106.45.<\/p>\n United Way\u2019s Secretary\/Publicity Chair, Dana Wallace spoke about the kickoff on Wednesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2. \u00a0\u00a0Cashwise has partnered with the United Way to put on a bratwurst and hotdog stand with all proceeds to the United Way.<\/p>\n The United Way is asking for a free will donation for the inflatables , fun activities and the outdoor movie. (Please leave pets at home.)<\/p>\n There will be inflatables courtesy of Jamestown Inflatables, and the family friendly movie starts at 8-p.m. Free popcorn courtesy of Bison 6 Cinema, and Newman Signs will put up the screen.<\/p>\n R&C School of Rock will provide music prior to the movie, as well as the movies sound system.<\/p>\n The Mosquito Squad will be spraying the park.<\/p>\n Those attending should bring a blanket to sit on the field with.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Upcoming United Way events\/fundraisers include:<\/p>\n An October 24th<\/sup> Bake Sale at the Buffalo Mall.<\/p>\n The United Way is also hosting the 50\/50 drawing at the Jamestown Speedway races on September 25,26.<\/p>\n The biggest donations come from businesses and workers in the community.<\/p>\n Pledge packets are being distributed in September to businesses.<\/p>\n
