(AP Dec\u00a01 ,2012) \u2014 Drake Caggiula scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift North Dakota over Colorado College 3-2 Saturday in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game.<\/p>\n<p>Caggiula, who finished the weekend with three goals, helped seventh-ranked North Dakota avoid a weekend sweep at the hands of the Tigers (8-7-1, 5-3-0). He scored just 51 seconds into OT.<\/p>\n<p>UND has split seven straight road series. Colorado College won 5-3 on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nothing came easy at all,&#8221; North Dakota coach Dave Hakstol said. &#8220;We played an excellent road game and had a good push in the third (period).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers were on the verge of a sweep when Dillon Simpson tied it with 13 seconds left.<\/p>\n<p>Tigers goalie Josh Thorimbert had three saves in overtime before Caggiula&#8217;s goal. Thorimbert finished with 39 stops.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We said after the second period if this takes us 20 minutes or 25 minutes, we&#8217;re just going to stick with our game,&#8221; Hakstol said. &#8220;We came out with momentum on our side (in overtime).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers did not get a shot on goal\u00a0 in\u00a0the overtime frame.<\/p>\n<p>Corban Knight needed just 34 seconds to give North Dakota the lead in the first period. But Rylan Schwartz tied it 1-1 less than three minutes later and it stayed tied until Archie Skalbeck&#8217;s goal gave the Tigers the 2-1 lead.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota outshot the Tigers 42-20.<\/p>\n<p>Clarke Saunders made 18 stops for North Dakota (7-5-2, 4-2-2).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.
