(AP) &#8211; Organizers of a Friday night benefit for a<br \/>\nFargo skateboarder say that several thousand dollars raised at the<br \/>\nevent is missing.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tom Kemmer, one of the organizers of an event held for Billy<br \/>\nMoyle, says he and others spent Saturday reviewing security tapes<br \/>\nand searching for a missing bag of money.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Moyle was paralyzed from the waist down as a result of an<br \/>\nOctober car accident.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kemmer says money from Friday&#8217;s benefit would go to defray Moyle&#8217;s medical expenses.<\/p>\n<p>He says the money had not been counted before it went missing, but he<br \/>\nestimated it was between $2,000 and $3,000.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kemmer says the money was stolen or lost in transit. (AP) &#8211; A northeastern North Dakota farmer<br \/>\ninvolved in a prolonged standoff with authorities last year is<br \/>\nnegotiating with prosecutors to forestall a criminal trial that<br \/>\ncould put him and family members in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Grand Forks County State&#8217;s Attorney Peter Welte (WEHL&#8217;-tee)<br \/>\nsays \u00a0a plea agreement likely also would include Rodney Brossart&#8217;s wife and<br \/>\ntheir four adult children.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Welte is assisting the state&#8217;s attorney in Nelson County, where<br \/>\nthe Brossarts were involved in a summer-long standoff in 2011 that<br \/>\nbegan as a case of missing cattle.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities allege the family members threatened officers with guns and ignored repeated orders to appear in court. (AP) &#8211; University of North Dakota researchers<br \/>\nare studying whether injecting carbon dioxide into oil formations<br \/>\ncan enhance the recovery of oil in the state.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 John Harju, associate director for research at UND&#8217;s Energy and<br \/>\nEnvironmental Research Center, says if the use of carbon dioxide<br \/>\nmeans just 1 percent of additional oil can be recovered, that would<br \/>\namount to 1.7 billion barrels of oil from North Dakota&#8217;s oil<br \/>\nfields.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Harju says\u00a0 an additional 1 percent recovery would be worth $150 billion, assuming an average oil price of $88 a barrel.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Current estimates show that producers will be able to recover<br \/>\nbetween 2 percent and 10 percent of the oil from the Bakken<br \/>\nformation using horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing, which<br \/>\nuses water, sand and chemicals to help extract oil.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A town hall meeting for women military veterans is scheduled in Fargo.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Representatives from the American Legion&#8217;s national headquarters plan to attend the event, which will focus on health care for women&#8217;s veterans.
