HIGHS IN THE UPPER 60S.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY.\u00a0 SEVERAL ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS<br \/>\n\u00a0THROUGH AT LEAST FRIDAY.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>(CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a school bus transporting 10 children was struck by a pickup, six miles NW of LaMoure, near Berlin, North Dakota, Thursday morning about 8:10.<\/p>\n<p>The report says, the bus was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup. The driver was able to swerve and avoid directly hitting the passenger compartment of the bus. The bus then ended up in the ditch. The pickup was traveling on a gravel road at approximately 55 mph when it struck the front axle and driver compartment area of the bus.<\/p>\n<p>The bus driver struck his head on the side window and suffered minor injury. Another bus came and transported the children to LaMoure. Some children were taken to the clinic in LaMoure.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup driver was identified as 30 year-old Kyle Dathe of rural LaMoure. The bus driver, 61 year-old Harvey Liebold, of LaMoure was charged with failure to yield.<\/p>\n<p>The bus was carrying ten student passengers of various ages. There were no serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Another bus transported them to the school in LaMoure. Parents were notified of the crash. Some students were checked out at the clinic in LaMoure.<\/p>\n<p>The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>New Rockford (CSi) A New Rockford man accused of murder in the death of a Pingree man,made his initial appearance, Thursday, in Southeast District Court, on murder and attempted murder charges.<\/p>\n<p>51 year old David Troske, is accused of murder in the death of 41 year old Donald Perleberg,of Pingree, and attempted murder in the shooting of 51 year old Mary Seiler, of New Rockford.<\/p>\n<p>Troske also faces charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and carrying a firearm into an establishment where alcohol is served.<\/p>\n<p>Troske rescinded an earlier request for a court-appointed attorney and was represented by attorney Alex Reichert from Grand Forks during the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Troske remains in custody in the Ramsey County jail on $2 million bail.<\/p>\n<p>Judge James Hovey said Troske will be scheduled for a preliminary hearing.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=81236\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The shooting occurred at a wedding reception<\/span><\/a><\/span><span> at about 1 a.m. Sunday at the New Rockford Eagles Aerie 2923.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Seiler remains in a Bismarck hospital intensive care unit,<\/p>\n<p>Troske is facing a Class AA felony murder charge with a maximum penalty of life in prison without parole. The attempted murder charge is a Class A felony punishable by 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Aggravated assault and reckless endangerment are Class C felonies punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Carrying a firearm in a liquor establishment is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by one year in jail and a $3,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0The Jamestown Police Department wants to warn Jamestown residents that a convicted sex offender has\u00a0 again \u00a0changed his address in\u00a0 the City of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>37 year old Larry Gant resides now resides at 1214 6th Avenue, NE\u00a0 #101, in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>He presently has no vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Gant is a black male 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 177 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.<\/p>\n<p>He has been assigned at high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee, of the office of the North Dakota Attorney General.<\/p>\n<p>Offense:<\/p>\n<p>Gant and two other individuals entered a residence through a bedroom window. They raped a developmentally disabled teenager who was sleeping in the bedroom<\/p>\n<p>Conviction Date: February 11, 2003 at Shelby County District Court, in Tennessee. Disposition: 8 years.<\/p>\n<p>Gant is not wanted by police at this time, and is currently serving the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety, and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault, or intimidate the offender. Jack Dalrymple is asking that flags are flown at half-mast Friday in observance of the anniversary of the 9\/11 attacks.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nearly a decade and a half after hijacked planes hit the World Trade Center&#8217;s twin towers, the Pentagon and a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, the anniversary continues to be marked with observances around the country.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple is asking all state governmental agencies to lower the U.S. and state flags from sunrise to sunset in honor of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. He says the gesture is to extend thoughts and prayers to victims&#8217; families and honor the men and women who risked and sacrificed their lives so others might survive.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota National Guard is holding a 9\/11 memorial service to honor the state&#8217;s fallen service members and their families.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The annual ceremony will be held today near Fraine Barracks in Bismarck, where a memorial was dedicated on Sept. 11, 2009. It honors 26 North Dakota service members who lost their lives in the global war on terrorism.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The event begins with at a social at 6:30 p.m., followed by the ceremony at 7. The public is welcome to attend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Board members of Frontier Village Association and Jamestown Tourism both say they must concentrate on a shared vision for the city\u2019s most popular tourist destination.<\/p>\n<p>This meeting follows a FVA special meeting on August 13th when board member Tina Busche and FVA Manager Nichole Mosolf said they felt board funding was threatened. They said Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund said FVA may not have been in compliance with funding guidelines and was advising Mosolf on her duties.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, FVA Board President Charley Tanata said the Jamestown Tourism office is in Frontier Village, and staff cannot help but watch the day-to-day activities, adding &#8220;We should work more closely and use the money for what we are supposed to do. All you are doing is making sure the money is used for what it is supposed to be used for and that we are getting the job done.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Swedlund said the Frontier Village vision is not clear and must translate into a goal of driving tourism numbers that boost economic development of the community. He acknowledged the friction between the organizations in the past and said it goes without saying that the two need to work as closely as possible to ensure proper use of hospitality tax dollars from Jamestown Tourism and the city.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting Nellie Degen, FVA board member, said the urgency of collaboration between the two boards was clear. The education association also has to formally approve it.<\/p>\n<p>The Fact Finding Commission, of Chairman Dean Rummel and members Jerry Hieb and Barb Evanson, recommended increasing the base salary by $800 to $39,300 the first year of the contract and by $900 in the second year of the contract to $40,200.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed two-year contract will also include the school district providing a health insurance benefit of either paying $2,500 toward a flex benefit Section 125 plan, or playing half of the cost of a district group health insurance single employee premium or an amount that will legally meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Fact Finding Commission held an impasse hearing at Barnes County North School on August 27th. The BCN School Board had declared the negotiations between the school district and the teachers\u2019 union was at an impasse on August 4, 2015, after three months of negotiation sessions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>LINTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Authorities have released the name of a 58-year-old McKenzie woman killed when she lost control of a sport utility vehicle on a curve near Linton.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Deborah Logan was heading north on Highway 1804 from Linton about midnight Wednesday when her SUV entered a ditch and rolled. Logan was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol released the name on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A 21-year-old flight attendant has been charged with terrorizing for allegedly fabricating a story about a suspicious bag found on a plane in Dickinson.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities allege Justin Cox-Sever tied a plastic bag under a rear seat in the SkyWest Airlines plane and told the flight crew the unclaimed bag was &#8220;beeping.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe pilot declared an in-flight emergency, which led to an emergency landing in Dickinson.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After passengers and the flight crew exited, deputies called for assistance from the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and the Bismarck Bomb Squad. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s agriculture commissioner says an Occupational Safety and Health Administration policy change meant to increase safety at anhydrous ammonia facilities could have an opposite effect.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Commissioner Doug Goehring says the change is onerous, burdensome and costly. He says it could bury anhydrous vendors in paperwork by imposing manufacturing standards on retail facilities.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Goehring likens it to a gas station having the same regulatory compliance as an oil refinery.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Darrell Scheresky, agronomy manager at Enerbase in Washburn, says the current binder of safety procedures for a retail facility is about five inches thick. (AP) &#8211; Officials involved in the nation&#8217;s first unmanned aircraft business park participated in groundbreaking ceremonies Thursday for the $300 million project in North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Construction has started on the 1.2-million-square-feet Grand Sky complex, which is located on the west end of the Grand Forks Air Force Base. Grand Sky Development President Thomas Swoyer Jr. says Thursday&#8217;s ceremony was meant to recognize numerous contributors to the project.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The park&#8217;s first tenant, Northrup Grumman, is expected to begin construction on its building later this year.
