HIGHS IN THE MID 70S.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a fire on a deck of an apartment unit Sunday at 1005 19th Street, Southwest, at about 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>City Fire Chief Jim Reuther, says, twenty-seven firefighters and four trucks were on scene.<\/p>\n<p>He says, the cause of the fire may have been smoking materials on the deck<\/p>\n<p>The city fire department was on scene for about 25 minutes. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to a Semi truck fire at 6:13-p.m. on Saturday on I-94 eastbound, at Exit 259.<\/p>\n<p>No cause was listed as the truck was totaled.<\/p>\n<p>Four city fire units and 20 fire fighters were on the scene.<\/p>\n<p>No cause was listed.<\/p>\n<p>Then,\u00a0Jamestown\u00a0 City Fire department was called out to Altendorf Trucking, east of Jamestown on Sunday about 6:55-p.m., in the lot at the shop area, where the fire rekindled, in the cab.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"easyRotatorWrapper\" align=\"center\"><div style=\"background:#000; padding: 10px; color: #FFF;\">Invalid rotator ID specified (path <em>erc_68_1442195302<\/em> doesn't exist).  Unable to display rotator.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Four city units and 31 city fire fighters were on the scene, then, about an hour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 About 40 individuals particpated in the &#8220;Out of the Darkness,&#8221; suicide awareness walk on Saturday September 12, 2015, at \u00a0McElroy Park.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event was Mrs. Fargo International Sara Thanel Dukart talking about her platform of bringing hope to suicide prevention.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0A registered nurse who works at Sanford Neurosurgery Clinic as a triage phone nurse for presurgery and postsurgery, she \u00a0is also a teenage suicide survivor who supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.<\/p>\n<p>She said, &#8220;The walks are a way to join together and support one another. We all have different stories and reasons for being here, but we have one goal \u2014 to prevent suicide.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police is warning residents regarding a convicted sex offender residing in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Cory Paxton Harmon lives at 403 1st Avenue, North, Jamestown ND #4.<\/p>\n<p>He is a 35 year old white male five feet four inches tall, weighing 200 pounds with green eyes and red hair.<\/p>\n<p>Harmon has been assigned a high risk assessement by the North Dakota risk level committee of the North Dakota Attorney General&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>He was convicted in November of 2011 in Richland County District Court stemming from the offense of Possession of Material &#8211; Sex Conduct by a minor.<\/p>\n<p>Disposition: five years, three years suspended, five years supervised probation..<\/p>\n<p>He was convicted also in Novmeber of 2011 in Richland County District Court stemming from the charge of Luring a Minor by Computer.<\/p>\n<p>Disposition: Five years with three years suspended, five years supervised probation (concurrent with Possession of Material.)<\/p>\n<p>He is currently on probation with North Dakota Parole and Probation.<\/p>\n<p>Harmon is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court.<\/p>\n<p>This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault, or intimidate the offender.<\/p>\n<p>Any attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten these offenders, their families, landlords, or employers will be turned over for prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>Printed handouts of the demographics of Cory Paxton Harmon are available at the Jamestown Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>More information on registered sex offenders is available at the North Dakota Attorney General\u2019s web site:\u00a0 <span style=\"font-size: large;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sexoffender.nd.gov\/\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">www.sexoffender.nd.gov<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck (CSi) The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reports that<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport usage continues to see growth.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2015, there were 683 enplanements reported, 106 percent more than the 331 boardings reported in August 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport\u2019s total boardings to date is roughly 5,458 passengers, which is more than 275 percent more than last year at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Other North Dakota Airports seeing growth include,. Bismarck, Devils Lake, Grand Forks and Williston.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Over $28 million in building permits have been recorded, so far ths year\u00a0in Valley City.<\/p>\n<p>City Building Inspector Dave Andersen says the Wellness Center, National Guard Maintenance Facility, GrandStay Inn and the Sheyenne Care Center project are the lion share of the construction boom this year in Valley City.<\/p>\n<p>Last year there was more than $12.6 million dollars in new building permits in Valley City. Meanwhile residential and commercial construction approached nearly $5 million dollars in October of 2014 an all-time record in Valley City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Crusaders motorcycle club will hold a Bike Run fundraiser for the James River Humane Society, on Saturday September 19, 2015, starting at Stutsman Harley Davison. A &#8220;Paws for a Cause,&#8221; fundraiser.<\/p>\n<p>The cost is $25 per entry, with registration at 11-a.m., and kickstands up at noon.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, JRHS, President, Matt Opsahl also pointed out that on October 17th, there will be a bake sale at the Buffalo Mall, from 10-a.m. to 2-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The shelter still has calendars, cookbooks, and t-shirts available for sale, with all proceeds going to the James River Humane Society.<\/p>\n<p>Opsahl pointed out that the shelter currently has 14 cats and 12 dogs available for adoption. A cat had kittens on Labor Day weekend so some kittens will be available in the future.<\/p>\n<p>He added that donations are accepted at Hugo&#8217;s and can be dropped off at the shelter, such as toys, treats, food, rawhides, blankets, plus cleaning supplies.<\/p>\n<p>Matt added that a paying job opening is available on Thursdays and Fridays, from 7-a.m. to noon each day. For more information call the Wilson Arena 252-3939.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fargo (CSi) North Dakota\u00a0 U.S. Senators Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven have announced that more than $3 million in federal funding to make needed improvements at multiple airports across North Dakota, authorized by the U.S. Department of Transportation .<\/p>\n<p>Heitkamp said, &#8220;As North Dakota\u2019s population continues to grow, local airports have seen a higher demand for resources to continue to provide safe and reliable transportation for North Dakotans. Investing in North Dakota\u2019s airports is vital to secure the longevity of our transportation infrastructure and foster economic growth. These federal funds will help these North Dakota Airports make improvements to runaways and other structural projects.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hoeven said, &#8220;In order to support our communities\u2019 ongoing growth, we need to have quality transportation infrastructure in place, Today\u2019s awards will support continued efforts to meet the demand for transportation and other aviation services, helping ensure future prosperity and safety.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the region, <b>Cooperstown Municipal Airport received $311,364.<\/b> These federal funds will be used to improve runways and will fund a seal coating to maintain safety of the runways.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2014, Heitkamp brought Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.heitkamp.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm\/2014\/3\/heitkamp-hoeven-to-host-faa-administrator-huerta-in-grand-forks-to-showcase-uas-industry-williston-to-see-aviation-infrastructure-needs\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Administrator Michael Huerta to North Dakota<\/span><\/a><\/span> to see firsthand the aviation challenges facing the western part of the state. During the visit, Huerta traveled to Williston and learned more about the drastic rise in passenger enplanements, placing major stress on airport infrastructure. (AP) &#8211; An early morning fire damaged the Knights of Columbus building in Grand Forks.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The blaze began shortly before 2 a.m. Monday. Officials\u00a0say \u00a0a couch outside the building started on fire, and the flames spread to the building.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Investigators did not immediately determine what caused the couch to start on fire.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Damage was contained to the outside of the building. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a Mandan man who died in a crash on the city&#8217;s Main Street.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say 34-year-old James Samuels was driving a vehicle that crashed into the rear of a semitrailer at a Main Street intersection on Friday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at a Bismarck hospital.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No one in the truck was injured.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A federal magistrate judge says a convicted con man accused of passing himself off as an FBI agent in the North Dakota oil patch should not be released before sentencing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Steven Goldmann pleaded guilty in February to an illegal weapons charge, after federal authorities agreed to drop four counts of impersonating an officer. Authorities say he regularly displayed a badge and gun.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A defense attorney says Goldmann suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of his Air Force service in Iraq and should be allowed to seek treatment in St. Cloud, Minnesota before his Sept. 25 sentencing..<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The government argued that Goldmann has yet to answer to an amended warrant in Tennessee.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. Magistrate Judge Charles Miller says Goldmann is a flight risk and a danger to the community<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Free checkups of car seats for children will be offered in North Dakota throughout the week as part of a national effort that stresses child passenger safety.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Department of Health in encouraging parents and caregivers to take advantage of the inspections to ensure their children are in the right car seats for their age and size, and that seats are installed correctly.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The department says car crashes continue to be a leading cause of death for children. The sessions last 90 minutes and cover topics including consent, alcohol and the cycle of violence.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kelsey Keimig is the school&#8217;s assistant director of sexual assault prevention and advocacy. She says hosting the workshops when students arrive on campus shows them the university cares about their safety.
