News Nov 6, 2012) \u2014 Jamestown Police is warning Jamestown Residents of a convicted sex offender, who has changed address in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The report says, 42 year old Gero Mahto has moved from 331 4<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue, Southwest in Jamestown, and as of Dec. 4, 2012, now resides at 414 4th Street Northeast, in Jamestown..Apt # 1.<\/p>\n<p>His vehicle is a Blue and White 1990 Ford F250 Pickup with North Dakota License<\/p>\n<p>JSZ 185. Also a Green 1998 Ford Expedition (ND) Notary Sticker.<\/p>\n<p>Mahto has been assigned a High Risk Assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee of the North Dakota Attorney General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>He was convicted of Gross Sexual Imposition. News Dec 4, 2012) &#8212; Moving control of the 9-1-1 operations from Valley City control to Barnes County, will be delayed.<\/p>\n<p>Originally the proposed plan was to have the change take effect on January 1, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Valley City Commissioner, Duane Magnuson has said that Valley City should renegotiate the cost share ratio, among other issues related to the 9-1-1 transfer.<\/p>\n<p>The Barnes County Commissioners voted 3-2 to develop a Resolution to clear up the issues of control and distribution of funds with the cost ratio.<\/p>\n<p>County Commissioners John Froelich and Phil Leitner voted against the Resolution, being opposed to moving transfer of the 9-1-1 dispatch center control from Valley City to Barnes County.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Valley City Administrator, David Schelkoph, at a County Commission meeting, told the County Commissioners, that the move should be delayed until July of 2013, which the County Commission voted to do at Tuesday\u2019s County Commission meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Schelkoph said he was grateful that Barnes County has agreed to the delay<\/p>\n<p>Valley City had threatened the county with a lawsuit if it assumed the 9-1-1 dispatch contract on 1, January, 2013, seven months before the tentative contract was going to expire.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County Commissioner Eldred Knutson said it\u2019s time to move forward not backwards on the take over.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. (AP) \u2013 A Texas man accused of burning down a North Dakota motel is scheduled to stand trial in late February.<\/p>\n<p>51-year-old Allen Thomas has pleaded not guilty to one count of arson and 18 counts of endangering by fire.<\/p>\n<p>The felony charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison upon conviction.<br \/>\nThe Houston man was staying at the Lone Steer Motel in Steele at the time of the Aug. 12, 2012 fire, which didn\u2019t hurt anyone but displaced about two dozen people.<br \/>\nAuthorities allege that Thomas used a cigarette lighter to<br \/>\nignite a mattress because he was upset that the hotel owners had<br \/>\nhelped his girlfriend after the two had argued.<br \/>\nThe trial is expected to last from Feb. 25 to March 1.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota National Guard has<\/p>\n<p>identified two soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan and a third<\/p>\n<p>who was wounded.<\/p>\n<p>Forty-one-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Darren Linde, of Devils Lake,<\/p>\n<p>and 20-year-old Spc. Tyler Orgaard, of Bismarck, died Monday when a<\/p>\n<p>roadside bomb struck their vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-three-year-old Spc. Ian Placek, of Bismarck, was wounded.<\/p>\n<p>The Guard says he&#8217;s in stable condition at a hospital in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>The soldiers were with the 818th Engineer Company. The unit is<\/p>\n<p>headquartered in Williston with a detachment in Hazen.<\/p>\n<p>About 100 members of the unit deployed in April for a year of duty overseas.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota National Guard had not had a casualty in the<\/p>\n<p>war on terror for six years.
