Winter weather advisory for central and east central South Dakota<\/span> through Friday, and a winter storm watch for the north central and northeast parts of the state Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning.\u00a0

\nAs much as 5 inches of snow had already been reported in parts of central South Dakota.<\/span><\/p>\n

Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — On Friday (Dec 7, 2012) another flood buyout, house was being moved along Chatauqua Boulevard in Valley City.<\/p>\n

This photo was taken on 6th<\/sup> Avenue, Northeast.<\/p>\n

This was the second of three structures being removed, in that area with another waiting for removal.<\/p>\n

This home belonging to Larry and Margaret Doyle, and was being moved east of town.<\/p>\n

In other instances, flood buyout structures are being demolished.<\/p>\n

On Monday this week, (Dec 3, 2012) an incident occurred when a trackhoe tipped over sideways and into the empty basement of a building being demolished, one of the Valley City flood buyout properties.<\/p>\n

No one was injured in accident.<\/p>\n

The trackhoe is owned Paul Diegel, of Six-D\u2019s Construction.<\/p>\n

The property is located on Main Street, near the Sheyenne River.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2013 Services for two North Dakota Army
\nNational Guardsmen killed in a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan
\nare pending, but Guard officials have named the funeral homes
\nhandling arrangements.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sgt. 1st Class Darren Linde of Devils Lake and Spc. Tyler
\nOrgaard of Bismarck died Monday when an improvised explosive device
\nstruck their vehicle. The remains of both soldiers are at Dover Air
\nForce Base.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Orgaard\u2019s funderal services will be conducted by Eastgate
\nFuneral Service in Bismarck. Linde\u2019s services will be conducted by
\nFulkerson Funeral Home in Sidney, Mont.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spc. Ian Charles Placek of Bismarck was wounded in the attack.
\nHe\u2019s being flown to Ft. Riley, Kan., for further medical treatment
\nand evaluation.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A man who fled a traffic stop in
\nFargo-Moorhead had to be rescued after he ran onto the partially
\nfrozen Red River and fell through the ice.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The chase early Friday began on the Minnesota side of the river
\nand crossed to the North Dakota side, where the man crashed his car
\ninto a business and fled on foot.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say the 26-year-old Colorado man broke through the ice
\nafter venturing onto the river but was able to keep from slipping
\nunder because the water was only waist-deep. Officers used a rope
\nto rescue him. They arrested him on several charges including a
\ndrug count and took him to a hospital to be treated for exposure to
\nthe icy water.<\/p>\n

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) – Cases against two attempted murder suspects in southwestern North Dakota have gone in different directions.
\n\u00a0
\n23-year-old Michael Pope had the charge against him reduced to a misdemeanor. He pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and was given a suspended sentence.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pope was accused of shooting another man several times after an alcohol-fueled fight in Dickinson about a year ago. Stark County prosecutors say it might have been difficult to prove that Pope did not fire in self-defense.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fifty-year-old Kevin Gardner has been bound over for trial on an attempted murder charge in Adams County. He is accused of putting a loaded gun to a woman’s head last month in Hettinger and pulling the trigger. The gun did not fire.<\/p>\n

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A new $15 million clinic has opened in Fargo
\nto serve the area’s uninsured and underinsured.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials scheduled an open house Friday at the Family
\nHealthCare Center, which saw its patient population swell from
\n6,600 to 12,000 in about five years. It’s the only federally
\ndesignated community health care center in North Dakota and western
\nMinnesota.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0 new clinic has 33 exam rooms, more than triple the number in the old clinic. Space has more than doubled to 56,000 square feet. The clinic is expected to handle at least 40,000 patient visits in its first year.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The project was paid for primarily through a $6.6 million
\nfederal stimulus grant in 2009 and tax credits. The clinic still
\nneeds $1 million and is seeking donations.<\/p>\n

LONDON (AP) – Two radio disc jockeys in Australia are going to be off the air for the time being — after the death of a woman in London who was a victim of one of their hoaxes. The two men telephoned a London hospital this week, pretending to be the queen and Prince Charles and asking about the condition of the Duchess of Cambridge. A tape of the call has been heard around the world. The hospital now says that a nurse who took the call, and who transferred it to the nurse caring for the duchess, was found dead Friday. Police found nothing suspicious, but it will be up to a coroner to say how she died.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CAIRO (AP) – The unrest continues in Cairo, where tens of thousands of protesters have pushed past the barbed wire fences installed by the army, and marched on the presidential palace. They’re calling on President Mohammed Morsi to leave office. The area saw some deadly clashes Wednesday, when Morsi’s supporters drove out crowds that were camped outside the palace. At least six people died. Opponents say Morsi offered no concessions during a speech Thursday.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) – It was just “more of the same.” That’s how House Speaker John Boehner (BAY’-nur) is describing his telephone chat this week with President Barack Obama. Boehner says there’s been no progress in the effort to avoid the automatic spending cuts and tax increases that are set to take effect next month.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) – In the aftermath of his re-election, it appears that President Barack Obama’s popularity is on the rise. A new Associated Press-GfK poll finds Obama with his highest approval ratings since the killing of Osama bin Laden. Fifty-seven percent of the people who were surveyed say they like the job he’s doing. And 42 percent say the country is on the right track. That’s a higher percentage than at any point since the start of Obama’s first term.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) – In a reversal from four years ago, President Barack Obama will accept unlimited sums of corporate money to pay for his inauguration. A spokeswoman for the Presidential Inaugural Committee says it will accept cash from companies and individuals to underwrite the costs of a weekend of festivities surrounding his second inauguration next month.
