Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) – James River Community & Senior Center in Jamestown is expected to move the Center One location to space in the former Jamestown Hospital location, the $10 million “Legacy Center,” in February 2013.<\/p>\n

James River Community Center Executive Director, Laurie McGuire, says, plans are well under way for the move.<\/p>\n

New features at the Community Center after the move will include, new kitchen equipment, more dining tables.<\/p>\n

Ms. McGuire adds, volunteers are being lined up for the move which will including moving<\/p>\n

the kitchen, and the snack bar, eleven offices, three party rooms, and catering equipment.<\/p>\n

Those wishing to volunteer may call the senior center, at 252-2882.<\/p>\n

A portion of Jamestown Regional Medical Center\u2019s services remain in the building, and newly added is ME\u2019s 21st Century Learning Center, day care.<\/p>\n

The James River Valley Library System looked at the site as a possible joint library location, but has decided to pursue other options, including the county space currently being occupied by the James River Community Center, and James River Transit, in Southeast Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Lutheran Social Services has purchased the building and has drawn up the plans, and will operate the facility, which will have 10,000 square feet for 51 tenant units, and 40,000 square feet of commercial space.<\/p>\n

\u3000\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Funeral services have been scheduled for two North Dakota National Guard soldiers killed in Afghanistan last week.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fulkerson Funeral Home says services for Sgt. 1st Class Darren Linde, of Devils Lake, will be at 1 p.m. Mountain time Tuesday at the Richland County Event Center in Sidney, Mont.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Funeral services for Spc. Tyler Orgaard will be at 10:30 a.m. Central time Thursday at Church of Corpus Christi in Bismarck.\u00a0

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The two men died in a roadside bomb attack a week ago. Linde’s remains were flown into Sidney on Sunday and turned over to his family. Orgaard’s remains were being flown into Bismarck on Monday afternoon.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spc. Ian Placek of Bismarck was wounded in the attack. He’s being transferred from a hospital in Germany to one at Fort Riley, Kan.<\/p>\n

Linde\u2019s funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec 11, 2012, \u00a0in Sidney, Mont.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, North Dakotans from all across the state will unite to honor one of our own for his valiant service and selfless sacrifice,\u201d Dalrymple said. \u201cSgt. 1st<\/sup> Class Darren Linde represents the best of our state and nation, and symbolizes the true meaning of an American hero. FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A Grand Forks woman has admitted to providing
\nthe heroin that authorities say led to the death of popular Fargo
\nblues guitarist Cody Connor last summer.<\/p>\n

24-year-old Nicole Wadsworth pleaded guilty Monday in federal court
\nin Fargo to conspiracy and drug charges. Assistant U.S. Attorney
\nChris Myers says Wadsworth faces at least 20 years in prison and
\ncould get a life sentence.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Myers says Wadsworth was involved in distributing the heroin
\nthat 26-year-old Seth Lund injected into Connors in June, leading
\nto Connors’ overdose death. Lund pleaded guilty in October to a
\ndrug charge and is to be sentenced Jan. 23.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Backers of a coal-to-liquid fuel plant proposed for western North Dakota say they will ask for more time to study the project.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North American Coal Corp. spokesman David Straley tells The Associated Press that developers will ask for a fifth extension before year’s end. He says developers still need favorable coal legislation and a clear U.S. energy policy for the $4 billion project to move forward.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Industrial Commission in 2007 committed up to $10 million in state aid from coal tax collections to help determine the project’s potential. Backers have sought an extension on weighing the project’s potential every year since.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 More than $1.3 million of state aid has been used studying the project to date.<\/p>\n

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota State will get some national exposure when the Bison play a Football Championship Subdivision semifinal game against Georgia Southern on ESPN2, CSi 18, \u00a0in prime time on Friday night,\u00a0 at 7-p.m., but the game’s timing could present some challenges.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kickoff at the Fargodome is just three hours after the start of NDSU’s midterm graduation. Bison athletic director Gene Taylor tells The Forum newspaper the school might encourage graduation participants to park south of the Bison Sports Arena on campus.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NDSU also has more than 12,000 season ticket holders from across North Dakota and into Minnesota who make the drive to every home game. (AP) – President Barack Obama has been making his case to workers at a suburban Detroit auto plant for his approach to heading off the “fiscal cliff” of tax hikes and spending cuts. He’s standing firm on his insistence that tax rates go up for the top 2 percent of American earners, while Republicans are standing by a proposal that doesn’t include an increase in rates.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NEW YORK (AP) – Former International Monetary Fund leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn and a New York City hotel maid have signed a settlement of her sexual-assault lawsuit. A judge announced the deal Monday. The amount is confidential. The lawsuit stemmed from a May 2011 hotel suite encounter. It also spurred criminal charges, forced Strauss-Kahn’s resignation from the IMF and cut off his potential candidacy for the French presidency. The criminal case was dropped after prosecutors said his accuser had credibility problems.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) – She sold 15 million records, and was at the peak of her career in Mexican music. Fans and colleagues are mourning the loss of Jenni Rivera, a California-born singer who was killed in a plane crash early Sunday in northern Mexico. Her soulful voice and her openness about her personal troubles gave her a large and loyal following. U.S. investigators are headed to Mexico to help pinpoint the cause of the crash. Six others are also believed to have died.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) – Authorities say attorneys for the Colorado movie shooting suspect called the University of Colorado four days after the attack and asked the school to return a package that James Holmes had sent to his psychiatrist. The university’s police chief says the call alerted police to the presence of the unopened package in the campus mail room. The disclosure came Monday in a hearing where defense attorneys were trying to find out who told Fox News that the package contained a notebook with writing detailing violent plans.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DENVER (AP) – Using marijuana for recreational use is now effectively legal in Colorado. Gov. John Hickenlooper declared a voter-approved marijuana legalization amendment as part of the state constitution Monday. It was the last procedural step needed for the amendment to take effect. The drug became legal in Washington state last week. Colorado and Washington officials both have asked the U.S. Department of Justice for guidance on the laws that conflict with federal drug law. Neither state will allow commercial sales for a year or more.
