CHECK BACK FOR FUTURE UPDATES PERTAINING<br \/>\n\u00a0TO A POTENTIAL WIND ADVISORY AND\/OR HIGH WIND WARNING.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Valley City (CSi) Under a proposal to move all law enforcement responsibility to the Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Office, a petition is circulating in Valley City to disband the Valley City Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>The petition asks residents to vote whether or not to created an Ordinance disbanding the Valley City Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>The sponsoring committee of this petition\u00a0consists \u00a0of Robert Drake, Brian Mindt and Anthony Drake.<\/p>\n<p>Organizer Robert Drake\u00a0says \u00a0supporters believe there is poor communication between the two law agencies, and a doubling of costs.<\/p>\n<p>In Mayor Bob Werkhoven&#8217;s opinion, \u00a0the petition seems to be too extreme compared to his proposal, placing administrative control of the city police department under the Sheriff\u2019s Office and would not disband the police department completely.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police wants to warn residents regarding a convicted sex offender who has changed addresses within city limits.<\/p>\n<p>David William Wilcox is currently residing at 442 2 Street SW apt.#1<\/p>\n<p>His vehicle is a Silver 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue, with ND License plate: KOW 725<\/p>\n<p>Wilcox is a 44 year old white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, with blue eyes and blonde hair.<\/p>\n<p>Wilcox has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakot Risk Level Committee of the North Dakota Attorney General&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Wilcox was convicted in January 2014 in Morton County, ND, District Court of sexual assault, involving a 14 year old female.<\/p>\n<p>Disposition was 5 years, 3 years probation.<\/p>\n<p>In January, 2014 Wilcox was convicted of indecent exposure in Morton County, ND District Court.<\/p>\n<p>Disposition was 1 year with 210 days credit.<\/p>\n<p>Wilcox is currently on probation with North Dakota Probation and Parole.<\/p>\n<p>He is on GPS monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>Wilcox is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court.<\/p>\n<p>This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender. (AP) &#8211; Minot police are searching for a male they say shot a female in an apartment and fled.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Capt. John Klug says the incident happened about 5:45 p.m. Sunday. The woman was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition early Monday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Klug says the male and female knew one another. Police have identified the shooter and are looking for him.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No other information was immediately released.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Five people have been arrested in connection with the recent robbery of a fast food restaurant in Fargo in which a worker was injured. A SWAT team took three men into custody on Friday in Fargo, and police arrested two more men in Moorhead, Minnesota, on Saturday. Authorities believe all five are connected to the September 3rd robbery of a Taco John&#8217;s restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Twenty-six University of North Dakota students who were on a party bus were arrested for underage drinking at a bar in Emerado.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Grand Forks County Sheriff&#8217;s Office says the bartender at Johnny&#8217;s Bar tipped off authorities late Friday after noticing that several people in the party bus has fake IDs and were trying to buy alcohol.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say 26 of the 28 people on the bus were under the legal drinking age. They all identified themselves as students at UND in Grand Forks.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All of the minors were arrested. Officers also confiscated alcohol and marijuana from the bus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; An advocacy group says the homeless population in the Williston region is dwindling, but the number of people living without adequate shelter is still troubling. The North Dakota Coalition for Homeless People estimates 370 homeless people live in Williams, McKenzie and Divide counties. That&#8217;s down from the peak of 624 in 2013. Most homeless in the area say they came there in search of work.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 LANKING, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Authorities and volunteers are continuing the search for a Grand Forks hunter missing in Walsh County. Forty-five-year-old Travis Vorachek was last heard from when he spoke with his wife by phone on Friday night. He was supposed to meet his father for deer hunting Saturday morning, but didn&#8217;t show. More than 100 volunteers helped in the weekend search.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The Pride of North Dakota event featuring thousands of products for sale wrapped up this weekend at Alerus Center in Grand Forks. State Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the event gives shoppers an opportunity to &#8220;buy local&#8221; for the holiday season. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is holding two town hall meetings to discuss its pipeline restoration and reclamation program. Both sessions are scheduled Monday. (AP) &#8211; Officials with the government agency that patrols the nation&#8217;s borders say it&#8217;s time to discuss ways to get more drone pilots on board.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Many pilots for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection&#8217;s Air and Marine Operations are approaching retirement, and some fear it will be difficult to find replacements.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The agency&#8217;s requirements &#8211; including 1,500 hours of actual flight time &#8211; eliminate a pool of younger flyers, particularly college students who are interested and skilled at flying drones. Gurley gained 89 yards and a touchdown on 24 attempts for the Rams.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was knocked out of the game by a hit to the head in the fourth quarter against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Bridgewater was scrambling for a first down and went into a slide on the play. Rams defensive back Lamarcus Joyner launched and hit Bridgewater in the head with his left shoulder.
