BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2013 The suspect accused of killing a man and injuring a woman at a wedding dance in New Rockford is being sued by the woman and the man\u2019s family as he awaits a mid-December arraignment in his criminal case.<\/p>\n
David Troske is facing charges including murder and attempted murder in the Sept. 6, 2015 fatal shooting of Donald Perleberg, of Pingree, and the wounding of Mary Seiler, of New Rockford, at the Eagles.<\/p>\n
Court documents indicate Troske and Seiler had dated. But it\u2019s unclear whether jealousy is a possible motive. People involved in the case say Seiler and Perleberg weren\u2019t in a relationship, though they danced that night.<\/p>\n
Seiler and Perleberg\u2019s family have filed civil lawsuits against Troske seeking money damages. Troske denies allegations in both civil suits and asks that they be dismissed.<\/p>\n

BELFIELD, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have identified a teenage boy from Belfield who died when the motorcycle he was riding hit a pipeline in a field.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Colby Lofthouse died Monday evening when he struck the pipeline under construction about 12 miles northeast of Belfield and was thrown from the dirt bike.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The patrol says the bike did not have headlights, and Lofthouse was not wearing a helmet.<\/p>\n

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A man was taken to a hospital after falling 20 feet from a roof at a Fargo house party where police issued more than a dozen citations.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The \u00a0man fell two stories and hit a fence early Wednesday. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officers who broke up the party cited 15 people for being minors in possession of alcohol or for violating a loud party ordinance. Another male was arrested for resisting.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota farmers this year produced fewer potatoes but more sugar beets.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Agriculture Department says in its latest crop production report that the state’s sugar beet crop is estimated at just under 5.8 million tons, 13 percent higher than last year. Potato production is pegged at 27.2 million hundredweight, down 5 percent from 2014.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota’s soybean production is forecast at 190 million bushels, down 6 percent, but the corn crop is estimated at 323 million bushels, up 3 percent.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The dry pea and lentil crops in the state also increased in size this year.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The state Tax Department says the number of North Dakotans reporting income of more than $1 million went up 7.5 percent last year.\u00a0

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The agency says 1,120 North Dakota taxpayers reported adjusted gross income of more than $1 million in 2014, compared with 1,041 North Dakotans in that category in 2013.\u00a0

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The number of North Dakotans reporting seven-figure incomes has more than doubled since 2010. The Tax Department says the increase is largely due to payments to mineral owners by oil companies.\u00a0\u00a0

BOCA RATON, Fla. — The Minnesota Twins remained active during the league\u2019s general managers meeting Wednesday by trading outfielder Aaron Hicks to the New York Yankees.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Twins will receive John Ryan Murphy, a 24-year-old catcher who spent last season in a reserve role. Murphy is a career .267 hitter in 115 games over parts of three seasons.\u00a0 Hicks started the 2015 season as the team\u2019s starting centerfielder, but played in the corner outfield positions when top prospect Byron Buxton was promoted mid-season. Considered a late bloomer, Hicks hit his stride at the plate in his third major league season, batting .256 with career highs in home runs, runs batted in and stolen bases in 2015.<\/p>\n
PHOENIX (AP) \u2013 The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired catcher-outfielder Chris Herrmann from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for minor league outfielder-first baseman Daniel Palka. Herrmann has appeared in 142 games for the Twins over the past four seasons. He played in 69 games as a catcher and 36 as a right fielder.<\/p>\n

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – A storm system is menacing the Plains with heavy snow and threatening turbulent weather – even tornadoes – in parts of the Midwest. The storm left parts of the Denver area covered in 5 inches of snow Wednesday.\u00a0 Colorado highway patrol troopers reported several crashes north of the city on windy, icy Interstate 25 near the Wyoming border.

(AP) – An explosion in northern New Jersey that leveled a duplex “like a pancake” has left one resident dead and two other people in critical condition, according to officials in Elizabeth. In all, 14 people were taken to hospitals, including an 11-year-old who was one of the critically injured.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 GENEVA (AP) – U.N. human rights experts are calling on Iran to stop arresting and prosecuting journalists. They say a new crackdown on freedom of expression appears to be under way in the Islamic republic. The experts called on Iran to release all journalists, including Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian (reh-ZY’-ahn). He was detained in July 2014 and convicted on charges including espionage.

New York City hosted its 96th annual parade, the largest celebration of service in the nation. “America’s Parade” featured more than 20,000 participants, including marching bands, floats, veterans and military units.
