News) &#8212; The Jamestown City Engineer\u2019s Office informs the public that, the Ice House Dam Gates will remain in their current position until approximately July 25<sup>th<\/sup> or 26<sup>th<\/sup> to facilitate cleanout of silt and some minor pipe reconstruction at about a dozen storm sewer outfall locations along the James River.<\/p>\n<p>If this work can be accomplished quicker than anticipated, the gates will be re-set accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>The City has now received approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to perform this work in the channel areas.<\/p>\n<p>This work is necessary to meet the conditions set forth in the City\u2019s MS4 Permit with the ND State Department of Health as well as the obligations established by the ND State Water Commission.<\/p>\n<p>A map of these work locations will be posted on the City\u2019s website as soon as possible:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jamestownnd.org\/\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">www.jamestownnd.org<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) &#8211; Officials say a U.S. Marshals Service jet made a precautionary landing in Stillwater, Oklahoma after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Marshals spokesman Jeff Kelly said yesterday the flight was traveling on Wednesday from Bismarck, North Dakota to Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Minnesota man convicted in North Dakota<br \/>\nfor impersonating a lawyer says the government owes him nearly<br \/>\n$24,000 for property that was sold.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Howard O. Kieffer is serving a sentence of more than four years<br \/>\nin prison after a jury in 2010 found him guilty on charges of mail<br \/>\nfraud and false statements. Authorities say he lied on his<br \/>\napplication to practice law in federal court and worked on federal<br \/>\ncases in at least 10 states.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Duluth, Minn., man claims in a motion filed Thursday that<br \/>\nthe money represents exempt proceeds from the sale of homestead<br \/>\nreal estate, and says he has the right to claim it within one year.<br \/>\nHe has requested a hearing.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas Chase had no comment on the<br \/>\nmotion.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Houston company has gotten zoning<br \/>\napproval for a $25 million proppant distribution facility near<br \/>\nGladstone, in western North Dakota.<br \/>\nGladstone officials granted the zoning request to Carbo Ceramics<br \/>\nInc. for an 85-acre site north of the city.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carbo Ceramics officials have said the plant will be the<br \/>\ncompany&#8217;s largest distribution operation for proppant, which are<br \/>\ntiny ceramic balls used by drillers to increase the recovery of<br \/>\ncrude.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say the plant could employ up to 25 workers and open<br \/>\nnext year.<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The number of oil drilling rigs at work in<br \/>\nNorth Dakota is leveling off, and a state regulator says that&#8217;s a<br \/>\ngood thing.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Department of Mineral Resources director Lynn Helms says<br \/>\nthe number of rigs working in western North Dakota has ranged<br \/>\nbetween 205 to 215 during April, May and June.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Helms said it &#8220;appears the rig count &#8230; has leveled off&#8221; in<br \/>\nthe low 200s.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And Helms says that&#8217;s OK, because the pause &#8220;will allow<br \/>\ninfrastructure and various other things to catch up.&#8221; North<br \/>\nDakota&#8217;s oil boom has put a lot of strain on local road and bridge<br \/>\nnetworks.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Oil production is still rising. Companies produced an average of<br \/>\nalmost 640,000 barrels a day in May, and there are close to 7,000<br \/>\nproducing wells.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A member of a water-ski performance team<br \/>\nwas injured when a trick went wrong on Aberdeen&#8217;s Dahme Lake.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Todd Thorson was taken to hospital at Aberdeen, but another<br \/>\nmember of the Aqua Addicts team said he didn&#8217;t think Thorson was<br \/>\nseriously injured. A hospital nursing supervisor would not disclose<br \/>\nhis condition.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The trick involved two skiiers jumping on a ramp while another<br \/>\ntwo skiiers crossed underneath them. Aqua Addicts member Jim Appl<br \/>\nsays the timing was off and the two skiiers who were crossing ran<br \/>\ninto each other.<br \/>\nThorson didn&#8217;t lose consciousness, and he was able to pull himself<br \/>\ninto the boat after the Thursday incident.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The rest of the water show was canceled.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DICKINSON, N.D.
