The proposed amendment would establish requirements for the study of traffic impacts created from new or modifications to existing development.<\/p>\n<p>The work session will be held at the City Hall lower level conference room.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<table dir=\"ltr\" width=\"612\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"7\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" height=\"170\">The provision of a traffic impact study with specific development proposals was first discussed with the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) during the development of the Land Use and Transportation Plan.The draft ordinance to be discussed as an amendment would set local requirements for the review of traffic impacts to the transportation system resulting from new development.The staff compared traffic impact study requirements of the NDDOT and other cities during the development of the draft ordinance language. The comparison was provided to the Planning Commission for review and discussion in early 2015. The discussion resulted in the determination of many elements of the draft ordinance.The staff recommends, &#8220;To accept the findings of staff, and recommend approval of the text amendment to Section 6.7 and Section 9 of Appendix B and Section 11 of Appendix C to require the submittal of a traffic impact study to the City Council.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. Authorities say medical workers told them the victim was lucky to be alive.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents indicate Wakefield is applying for a public defender. A home telephone listing for him could not be found. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.\u00a0\u00a0BEULAH, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Beulah day care provider who admitted biting a 3-year-old boy under her supervision has been sentenced to two years of probation.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Brandy Aadnes pleaded guilty to child abuse and operating a child care facility without a license. She&#8217;ll be banned from child care services during her probationary period.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police began investigating Aadnes after receiving a report about a child being bitten last August. The boy&#8217;s relatives told authorities they noticed an adult-size bite mark on his arm. (AP) &#8211; A Missouri man accused of pointing a loaded rifle at a sheriff&#8217;s deputy during a car chase in North Dakota will serve about four months in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thirty-five-year-old Brandon Bradford, of Archie, Missouri, reached a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment. He had initially been charged with attempted murder.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say a Ward County deputy tried to stop Bradford about 1 a.m. on Oct. 17 because he was driving a vehicle with no right-side tires, only rims. A chase ensued, with Bradford allegedly pointing a rifle at the deputy at one point.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bradford also pleaded guilty Wednesday to fleeing and drunken driving. (AP) &#8211; Secretary of State Al Jaeger has asked a federal court to dismiss a lawsuit that alleges the state&#8217;s voter identification requirements are unconstitutional.\u00a0 Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (STEN&#8217;-jehm) filed the motion to dismiss Wednesday. Seven members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa last month sued North Dakota&#8217;s chief elections officer. The lawsuit alleges North Dakota&#8217;s voter ID requirements &#8220;disproportionately burden and disenfranchise Native Americans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 MINOT, N.D.
