News Dec 27, 2012) &#8212; The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Thursday released the names of the six men killed in a crash Wednesday (Dec 26, 2012) about 10:26 a.m., on I-94 west Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>The men killed were occupants in a 2002 Chevrolet pickup westbound on I- 94 west of the I-94, \u00a0Highway 281 Exit, that went out of control on the ice-covered road.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup crossed the median into the path of an eastbound 2006 Freightliner semi pulling a trailer, which struck the passenger side of the pickup.<\/p>\n<div class=\"easyRotatorWrapper\" align=\"left\">\r\n\r\n<!-- Begin DWUser_EasyRotator -->\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/c520866.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com\/1\/js\/easy_rotator.min.js\"><\/script>\r\n<div class=\"dwuserEasyRotator\" style=\"width: 445px; Please enable JavaScript to view. \r\n\t\t<\/noscript>\r\n\t\t<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/*Avoid IE gzip bug*\/(function(b,c,d){try{if(!b[d]){b[d]=\"temp\";var a=c.createElement(\"script\");a.type=\"text\/javascript\";a.src=\"https:\/\/easyrotator.s3.amazonaws.com\/1\/js\/nozip\/easy_rotator.min.js\";c.getElementsByTagName(\"head\")[0].appendChild(a)}}catch(e){alert(\"EasyRotator fail; contact support.\")}})(window,document,\"er_$144\");<\/script>\r\n\t\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<!-- End DWUser_EasyRotator -->\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>The Highway Patrol listed the occupants, all from Missiouri as: the pickup driver, 47-year-old Martin Zuniga, of Republic; and the passengers,51-year-old Mayolo Lopez, of Springfield; 43-year-old Albino Galicia Martinez, of Springfield; 50-year-old Epitacio Acosta Padron, of Springfield; 54-year-old Jose Isabel Avila, of Springfield; and 34-year-old Herson Orellana of Nixa.<\/p>\n<p>The patrol said three of the pickup\u2019s occupants were ejected during the crash and all six were killed.<\/p>\n<p>None were wearing seatbelts.<\/p>\n<p>The semi\u2019s driver, 23 year old Stuart Hauge, of Glen Ullin, North Dakota suffered minor injuries and was taken by Jamestown Ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>He was wearing a seat belt.<\/p>\n<p>The crash caused both eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 to be closed for about two hours on the debris littered roadway.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup was totaled and the semi and trailer received about $40,000 in damages.<\/p>\n<p>The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Jamestown Police Department, Jamestown Fire Department and North Dakota Department of Transportation also responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dec 26, 2012<\/p>\n<p>Update&#8230;Wed. afternoon..<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports six men were killed in a two vehicle crash on I-94 near Jamestown Wednesday, (Dec 26, 2012) at about 10:26 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Captain Bryan Niewind said a Chevrolet pickup was westbound on Interstate 94, between mile markers 257 and 258.<\/p>\n<p>The 2002 Chevrolet was occupied by six males.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the pickup lost control and the vehicle crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and into the path of an eastbound Freight-liner.<\/p>\n<p>The semi struck the pickup in the passenger side door.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup ended up in the south ditch, while the semi came to rest in the median.<\/p>\n<p>All six were killed in the crash.<\/p>\n<p>The report says three of the pickups occupants were ejected from the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>None of the men were wearing seat belts.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the occupants died at the scene, while the others were pronounced dead at\u00a0 Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the 2006 Freight-liner, a 23-year-old Mandan man suffered non life-threatening injuries and was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say he was wearing a seat belt.<\/p>\n<p>Niewind said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Identification of the men in the crash will be released Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Sgt., Josh Rude says the highway was extremely icy in the area, but the North Dakota Department of Transportation was plowing and laying sand.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say the pickup may have been traveling too fast for conditions and may have had the vehicle&#8217;s cruise control engaged.<\/p>\n<p>Eastbound I-94 traffic was diverted off the highway, through Southwest Jamestown and back on the highway past that stretch of the interstate.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup which had a Missouri license plate, was totaled.<\/p>\n<p>The men, all from outside the tri-state area, may have been construction workers.<\/p>\n<p>The semi and trailer received an estimated $40,000 in damages.<\/p>\n<p>Also responding to the call were:\u00a0 the Jamestown Rescue Squad, the Stutsman County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, Jamestown Police, Jamestown Area Ambulance Service, and the North Dakota Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n<p>The accident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V.
