Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police reports, a 49-year-old man was stabbed Monday night during a domestic dispute with a 27-year-old woman.<\/p>\n
Lt. Justin Blinsky\u00a0reported that \u00a0officers went to 407 1st Avenue, North, at 11:05 p.m. to the report of a stabbing.<\/p>\n
He said officers spoke to the victim when they arrived on the scene. The man was treated to by the Jamestown Area Ambulance Service personnel. He was\u00a0 taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of an injury to his upper left arm and was released.<\/p>\n
Blinsky said the injury was non-life threatening and was caused by a knife.<\/p>\n
Officers found the alleged suspect, the 27-year-old female, in an apartment complex about a half-block away from the residence on 1st Avenue North. She was taken into custody and transported to the North Dakota State Hospital for evaluation.<\/p>\n
Blinksy said alcohol was a factor in this matter.<\/p>\n
The man and woman are Jamestown residents.<\/p>\n
Blinsky said the incident is still an open case and charges are pending. The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) A Jamestown man has been charged with sexual assault Monday in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.<\/p>\n
53-year-old Alexander McManus had his initial court appearance Monday afternoon on the Class C felony charge. He is in custody in the Stutsman County Correctional Center and has not posted a bond.<\/p>\n
Court documents show, McManus allegedly had sexual contact with an underage female relative at least two times since he and his family moved to Jamestown in May 2015. The most recent alleged sexual contact took place in September.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Public School Board, Monday approved the administrator master agreement for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school year.<\/p>\n
The 9-0 School Board vote follows approval on April 12 by a negotiations committee of School Board members and school district administrators. The two-year contract affects 14 Jamestown Public School District administrators who work 204 to 260 day school years as building principals, assistant principals, career and technology center directors, activities directors or technology directors.<\/p>\n
The base salaries range from $92,705 for technology director to $117,752 for the high school principal in 2016-17. The same positions pay $95,718 and $121,579 in 2017-18.<\/p>\n
Also….The School Board unanimously approved $808,750 to fund district summer projects. The two projects adding up to more than $500,000 of the funding include a dehumidification system for the Jamestown High School swimming pool and a capital projects plan.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The James River Valley Library System Board of Directors has unanimously approved funding to replace shelves in the perimeter of the children\u2019s library.<\/p>\n
Library Director, Joe Rector says, he project, which costs about $12,000, was less expensive than refinishing the current shelves.<\/p>\n
Rector said the need for the new shelves was more than visible, as children and other library guests have been getting splinters from the decomposed shelves.<\/p>\n
The new bookmobile will arrive at OBS Inc. headquarters in Ohio in May. The bookmobile is currently undergoing body work, and when it arrives at OBS Inc. it will undergo interior and shelving designs<\/p>\n
The bookmobile is still set to arrive in Jamestown this summer.<\/p>\n
Bill Kennedy, development director for the library, said donations for the bookmobile are at $51,982, with 87 people donating. The average donation, Kennedy said, is $20.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) A benefit supper, silent and raffle auctions are set for Wednesday April 20, 2016, from 5-pm., to 8-p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jamestown for Megan Dewald.<\/p>\n
Megan has been fighting Cysitc Fibrosis all 26 years of her life.<\/p>\n
Cystic Fibrosis is a fatal lung disease that worsen with age.<\/p>\n
Megan\u2019s struggles now include being on oxygen 24 hours, and has limited her to only the basic activities necessary to function each day.<\/p>\n
Her doctors have declared that she needs a double lung transplant, and that it\u2019s time to be put on the lung transplant list.<\/p>\n
This is and expensive operation and requires Megan and her mom Cheryl Dewald to live near the University of Minnesota hospital for 3-4 months after surgery. Megan will also have many follow up appointments and procedures in the 1-3 years following the transplant.<\/p>\n
Megan will also have a lifetime of expenses for anti-rejections medications.<\/p>\n
To help with all of the expenses the community is welcome to help out by attending the supper, and participating in the silent and raffle auction,with a free will donation. The auction will include items signed by former Bison quarterback, Carson Wentz.<\/p>\n
Friends for Megan have set up an account at Gate City Bank, under the name of the Megan Dewald Benefit Fund.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Officer Patrick Thomas shot 31-year-old Karmen Redshirt in a parking lot after Redshirt aimed a replica gun with a laser pointer at the officer. Redshirt had emergency surgery and was hospitalized for several days.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A state investigation later cleared Thomas of any wrongdoing.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fahleen pleaded guilty to bank robbery last November. U.S. Attorney Christopher Myers says Fahleen was sentenced Monday to serve five years and three months in prison and pay about $3,800 in restitution.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) – A car bombing along with an attack by armed militants in Afghanistan’s capital has killed at least 28 people and injured more than 300 during a prolonged gun battle. The Taliban is claiming responsibility. The government confirms the battle has now ended. The attack appears to have targeted an agency similar to the U.S. Secret Service, providing personal protection for high-ranking government officials.
