Charles Martin Sizer 88 of Wimbledon, ND passed away on Thurs Feb 18 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Charlie was born July 26, 1932 the son of Charles and Leona (Ambuel) Sizer of Wimbledon. He grew up and attended school around the Wimbledon area and married Marilyn Evon Mohr on October 28, 1950 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon.
Charles and Marilyn lived on the Julius Halvorson farm near Dazey until 1951. They then purchased a farm from the Hewitt Brothers of Indiana in October 1951, located right outside of Wimbledon. Charlie farmed in the Wimbledon area and in 1976 purchased a liquor establishment called CM’s Place. In January 2019 Charlie moved to an apartment in Jamestown we all grew to love. He was still independent but close to family. Charlie loved farming and on occasion a little gambling.
Charlie was a substitute Rural mail carrier from 1952 to 1973 in Wimbledon and a rural fireman for the area. He was also a member of The Eagles Club and Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Leona, his wife, Marilyn, his sisters, Mavis Roberts, Lavern Nogosek & Clara Sorlie Schrade, his brother, Myron and his daughter, Merri Brueske.
Charlie is survived by sons, Daniel (Linda) of Wimbledon, and Michael (Babbi) of Jamestown; daughters, Charleen (Dean) Vollmer of Fargo, Kristy (John) Jeske of Jamestown, Stacy (Glenn) Schulz of Jamestown; 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and brother, Bruce Shockley of Wimbledon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Ave Marie Village, Jamestown, ND.
Due to COVID-19 the family is holding a private Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Wimbledon, ND. The family is offering a time of visitation for friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, February 22 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND. Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery, Wimbledon, ND.
