Tower City (NDHP) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the 42-year-old Hazen, North Dakota, woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday, July 12, near Tower City.

Christina Anderson died from injuries sustained in the crash. She was pronounced dead on scene.

Wyatt Staloch, 26, Jamestown, was arrested Tuesday for leaving the scene of a fatal crash, a Class B felony, the patrol said. He was transported to the Stutsman County Correctional Center and later released.

Kimberly Bennett, 46, Hazen, was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 towing an empty U-Haul flatbed car trailer at about 4:10 a.m. Tuesday in the westbound lane of Interstate 94 near the Oriska rest area. Anderson and a 14-year-old girl from Hazen were passengers in the Dodge.

Staloch, who was driving a 2017 GMC Sierra rear-ended the trailer, causing the Dodge and trailer to enter the median and roll, the patrol said.

The patrol is investigating the crash.

Oriska (NDHP) – One person was killed and two others injured in a hit-and-run crash on I-94 two miles west of Tower City shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday, July 12th.

From NDHP: On July 12th, 2022 at approximately 4:10 am, a two vehicle crash occurred on I-94 near MM 305, just east of the Oriska Rest Area, along the westbound roadway.

A 2005 Dodge Ram, towing a U-Haul flatbed car trailer, was westbound on I-94 in lane 2 (right
lane). While traveling westbound, the trailer and Dodge Ram were rear-ended by a 2017 GMC
Sierra.

After the collision, the Dodge and trailer entered the median and rolled. The 14 YOA female
passenger in the Dodge was unrestrained and was ejected during the rollover. The other two
occupants of the Dodge remained in the vehicle. After striking the Dodge, the GMC fled the
crash scene.

Evidence on scene allowed law enforcement to identify the GMC being involved in the crash.
Law enforcement placed a BOLO (Be on the lookout) out for the GMC. The GMC was located
later in the morning in Jamestown by the NDHP. The GMC was impounded and the driver,
Wyatt Staloch was detained. During the investigation, Staloch was identified as the driver of
the GMC at the time of the crash. He was arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Crash, a B
Felony. He was transported to Stutsman County Corrections for this charge. Staloch was not
injured in the crash.

The 14 YOA female passenger Kim and the 46 YOA female driver of the Dodge were both transportedo Sanford Hospital in Fargo for their injuries.
