Minot (UJ) The 15th-ranked University of Jamestown women’s hockey team trailed 3-2 after two periods Sunday afternoon, but the fifth-ranked Minot State University Beavers scored twice in the third in a 5-2 win over the Jimmies.

Cambree Martens (FR/Morden, MB) scored her fourth of the season on assists from Annika Braun (FR/Altona, MB) and Rylee Gee (SO/Luverne, Minn.) to make it a 1-1 game at 12:53 of the first. MSU added two more goals in a 68-second span towards the end of the period for a 3-1 lead.

Bethany Wielgosh (FR/Beausejour, MB) brought the Jimmies within 3-2, scoring on the power play at 18:18 of the second with assists by Martens and Gracie Fisher (JR/Bemidji, Minn.). In the third period, MSU added two more goals to round out the scoring.

Makenzie Gibson (FR/Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) had 25 saves in goal for UJ. Shots were 30-18 in favor of MSU.

Next up for the Jimmies is a home exhibition game against Division 2 Dakota College-Bottineau on November 30th at 4 PM.
