(Chamber)) – The 92nd Annual Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet was held January 19 at the Harold Newman Arena on the University of Jamestown Campus. The annual banquet is held to highlight the importance of the chamber and recognize the businesses and individuals who continue to serve the community and surrounding area to the highest degree.


The Beautification Committee recognized Two Rivers Activity Center with their
Continuing Beautification Award, Frontier Village with the Spot of Beauty Award, and
First Community Credit Union with the Best Landscaping Award.


The Young Professional of the Year Award was given to Shannon Klatt. Klatt was
nominated for her passion in public service, leadership on projects and groups, and high
involvement in other community events and organizations.


The Business of the Year award went to R.M. Stoudt. This award recognizes a business
who continues to provide superior customer service with high involvement in the
community. The award is voted on by the Young Professionals of Jamestown from the
previous year’s Business of the Month award winners.


The Above & Beyond Award was given to Ben Smith with the Jamestown Public
Schools. His nomination letter pointed to his vast number of roles in the school district
and his community involvement. Some activities include a community service project to
give all 2nd graders a free book in Jamestown, raising money and awareness for men’s
health, and more.


The Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award was given to Alden Kollman. Kollman has
been a longstanding staple in the Jamestown community and has been a driving force
in preserving the history of Stutsman County. Through his leadership, the Lutz Mansion
has become a gem for tourism and a site for front porch chats. Other work includes the
new computerized inventory, countless hours of research, and involvement in different
pursuits and organizations.
