Wayne Byers, 72, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Wednesday Feb 1, 2023, at Bismarck Sanford Medical Center.
Wayne joined Cable Services as New Director for KCSI-TV and CSi on January 15, 1999. He hosted the weekday talk-show, “The Wayne Byers Show”, heard on CSi 2, from 1999 through early 2022 along with co-hosting various TV programs such as “Meet Your Candidates”, “City Matters”, and was a mainstay at providing Election Return information on TV and Online at CSiNewsNow.com.
Byers also covered the monthly meetings of the Jamestown City Council and Valley City Commission, as well as a variety of committee meetings.
Wayne’s radio career started in Syracuse, NY in 1971 through 1978 when he came to Jamestown, ND. He continued as a radio announcer. talk show host, and news director through 1999 before taking the position of News Director for KCSi TV.

Wayne Byers, 72, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.
Wayne was born September 11, 1950 at Buffalo, NY, the son of Albert and Mildred (Schmidt) Byers. At an early age he moved to Syracuse, NY, attended school there and graduated from High School in 1969. He later attended Onondaga Community College. He then helped his brother at the Autostore in Canisteo, NY and also did broadcasting.
Wayne and Beverly Fiore were married December 23, 1978 at Syracuse, NY. They made their home in Oneida, where he worked as a broadcaster. In 1980 they moved to Jamestown where he worked for KEYJ. In 1999 he became news director at Cable Services Inc. where he has continued to work.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, Jamestown, ND; children, Cathy (Donald) Meier, Woodbury, MN; David Allen, MT; April (Philippus) Holtzhausen, Jamestown, ND; and 6 grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.
