Jeffrey Kunze, age 49, of Dazey, ND, died Sunday, February 11th at Mercy Hospital, Valley City, of Natural Causes.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 PM Saturday, February 17th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church near Dazey, ND. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery.  A livestream of the funeral mass and an online guestbook will be available at www.lerudmathias.com.  Fellowship will follow the service at the Sodbusters in Sibley.

Jeffrey Alan Kunze, the son of Dale and Cindy (Everson) Kunze, was born February 16, 1974 in Valley City, ND.  Jeff grew up in the Dazey, ND area and attended North Central of Barnes School where he graduated in 1992.  After his graduation, he attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.  Jeff then worked for various farmers in the Dazey area before going to work for Wick Construction in Valley City.  In 2010, he joined his brother Travis doing construction work.  Jeff also worked at Punky’s Bar in Dazey where he enjoyed visiting with and serving numerous customers.  Jeff’s greatest joy was the farm, his huge garden (almost an acre in size), his chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, quail, guinea fowl, his fruit trees and the outdoors.  Jeff was an accomplished sportsman who hunted, fished, and trapped many fur bearing animals.  He was also very proud to be known as a true friend to many people.  

Jeff is survived by his lifelong companion Brenda Everson and her two children Billy Moser and Jesse Everson; his two brothers, Travis (Anita) Kunze and Paul (Lisa) Kunze; his nieces and nephews, Jerica, Jared, Levi and Aubrey Kunze; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He also leaves extended family, Carol (Bob) Grenz and Roger Holter and extra nieces and nephews, Amanda (Shane) Olauson, Rochelle Grenz, Shawntae, Shayla and Shantel Holter.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Cindy and his grandparents.
