David Erwin Nagle passed away suddenly the morning of September 27, 2024, at the age of 80 years old.  Dave was born on March 15, 1944, in Valley City, North Dakota where he was raised and lived his whole life.  He graduated from College High in 1962.  He attended and graduated from NDSSS in Auto Mechanics.  He married his wife Linda (Bauer) Nagle on May 2, 1964.  Through his life he worked as a mechanic at Tower Texaco Truck Stop, Main Motors, Joe Ford and Stoudt-Ross Ford.  Outside of work he loved to take care of his yard, was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 560, and restored a 1966 Ford Fairlane Convertible and an MG convertible.  He also had a beer can collection with over 2000 unique cans from all over the United States.  After he retired, he and Linda spent several winters at the Sunflower RV Park and Resort in Surprise, Arizona.

Although he did not express himself in words, he had a generous heart and loved to use his skills to show his love.  He often got calls from relatives and friends to ask for his assistance to repair things.  Dave had a knack of being able to repair anything, unfortunately he is not present to repair the loss we now feel.  He contributed his time and skills to the Valley City Garden Club, Bridge City Cruisers, Trinity Lutheran Church, the Table and Chair Crew at Sunflower Resort and the farm where his son and daughter-in-law lived.  Also, he and Linda spent hundreds of hours cleaning up garbage from roadway ditches in the area.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Ruth (Oxton) Nagle.  He is survived by his wife, Linda of Valley City, ND; son, Steve (Brenda) Nagle of Valley City; and brothers, Robert (Linda) Nagle of Sun City, AZ; Daniel (Jackie) Nagle of San Diego, CA; Lyle (Michele) Nagle of Valley City, ND; Paul Nagle of West Fargo, ND; Gene Nagle of Lincoln, ND; and Donald (Sandy) Nagle of Bismarck, ND.

Arrangements are being made by Lerud Mathias Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lerud Mathias Funeral Home at 2 pm on October 4, 2024, followed with a Committal Service at Memory Gardens.  There will be a Visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the Service.  The last several years it has been a tradition for Dave and his immediate family to meet at Brockopp Brewing at 4:00 pm on Friday to reconnect after the business of the week.  The family is inviting anyone that would like to continue the celebration of Dave’s life to meet us at Brockopp’s at 4:00 pm.
