Margo Gerber, age 97, Racine, Wisconsin died December 18, 2024, at Oak Ridge Care Center, Union Grove, Wisconsin.
Margo Lore Baumann was born in Heilbronn, Germany on November 22, 1927, the daughter of Eugen and Emilie (Erlewein) Baumann. She emigrated to the United States in 1948. She was married to Vernor Ternes in 1968 and widowed in 1970. She was united in marriage with Arnold Gerber in 1974, until his death in 2003.
Margo resided in North Dakota for most of her life, primarily in Jamestown until moving to Racine in 2012 to be closer to family. She worked as a caregiver at Bethel 4-Acres in Jamestown for many years, until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Jamestown.
She is survived by her children: Donavon (Helen) Ternes, Coto de Caza, California; Shelly (Steve) Wickham, Mount Pleasant, Iowa; and Rita (Jeffrey) Collen, Racine, Wisconsin and seven grandchildren: Katie Myers, Blake (Kacie) Wickham, Hannah (Matt) Biederman, Sterling Wickham, Cole Ternes, MaxAnna Collen, and Solomyn Collen. She is also survived by a sister, Renate (Karl) Desing, Senden, Germany.
Margo was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and brother Dieter.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Eddy Funeral Home, 621 1st Avenue South in Jamestown, North Dakota. The family will receive visitors 1 hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown.
The family requests remembrances in Margo’s memory be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
