BARNES COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A manhunt Thursday morning for George Jerome has been called off and Jerome has been taken into custody.
Deputies say around 6:00pm Wednesday night, Barnes County received a call that security cameras captured someone trying to steal equipment. After a search of the area, deputies say they found a vehicle in a ditch. One person was taken into custody, the another took off.
Search efforts for Jerome went until 2:00am Thursday morning. around 7:00am, Deputies say a person in Steele county reported seeing Jerome in their backyard. Jerome was found in a row of trees nearby and was taken into custody.
The US Marshall service was called to help in the search for Jerome. Deputies say Jerome had several old warrants out for his arrest, including burglary.

The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the man pictured in this article. They shared “If you see him or have any information on this suspect, call 701-845-8181. If you see this male do not approach him, contact law enforcement.”
The sheriff’s area has not named the man, however; another post circulating on social media identifies him as George Jerome, stating he ran from officers after a burglary in the Pillsbury, ND area Thursday morning.
