VCPD-patchValley City (CSi) Valley City Police report a 51 year old man died Monday, caused by a riding lawnmower accident at Hanna Field in Valley City.

When police arrived they discovered 51 year old Todd Heck face-down with the riding lawnmower on his back.

The unit was removed, and first responders from Barnes County Ambulance determined that he had died.

During the investigation authorities determined that Heck was mowing up an incline, when the 1,300 pound mower flipped over, trapping him under the mower, causing fatal injuries.

Heck was employed by the Valley City Public School District, which was notified along with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, as the accident remains under investigation
