Valley City (CSi) A fault in an underground electrical cable caused a power outage at Jefferson Elementary School, for about an hour, on Tuesday.
Valley City Electrical Supervisor Marshall Senf says crews worked most of the day to replace the cable.
Valley City Public Schools Superintendent Josh Johnson says generators supplied a limited amount of lighting for classrooms until the power returned.
Johnson pointed out that students assisted in preparing sandwiches for lunch due to the lack of full power to run the ovens.
Classes then resumed and it was anticipated that power would be restored to normal capacity on Wednesday, October 12th.
