Previously reported: . . . On Wednesday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, were Community Action Region VI, Food Pantry Director, Sarah Oberlander, and one of the sponsors representative, Carolyn Tomlin-Chicos from Bank Forward in Jamestown.

Carolyn pointed out that T-shirt pick up and race day registration opens at 7:30-a.m. Register by November 17^th to guarantee a race day T-shirt pick up.  The entry fee is $25, with proceeds donated for the Community Action Region VI Food Pantry.  She said the fee covers an entire family if they wish to participate.

Sarah said, everyone participating is asked to bring a non-parishable food items, and personal hygiene item to donate on race day morning. Bring as many item you can carry.

She pointed out that a clock will be running, with a prize for first place.

The run/walk starts at Cashwise and goes through McElroy Park with the course marked with signs.

She added that last year when it was 14 above zero, 165 runners or walkers participated.

In 2014 when it was 23 below zero, still there were 47 participates braving the cold.

She said the Community Action Food Pantry in Jamestown set a record with 180 individuals or families receiving items in August this year.

She pointed out that those seeking food pantry assistance is year round, and the need continues to keep the food pantry stocked.
